QOTD: Well in NOvember we are making a trip out to Cali- Sonoma, Napa and Santa Cruz. Plus we always do some local travel to support the industry here in Virginia.

Plus I am trying to figure when we can drive up and see the Wine Library in person. Do you have tours like Graceland??

No wine vacations can live up to my trip to Italy last summer so I will hang near the WL this year.

Not planning a wine vacation. My daughter will graduate from high school this year and it is really her choice. She is not a drinker, nor a wine fan. Therefore, I won’t make her go.

I went to the Willamette Valley in late 2007 and tasted seveal Pinots at some of the small producers. That was a good trip.

Future plans – Toscana and Napa.

I’ve lurked a bunch here but commented little. I know you love the Jets [I’ve been a long time fan myself–even used to go watch Spring training at Hofstra U. with my dad when I was a tot and got bunches of autographs in the early 70s], but why is a Pats/Giants S-Bowl your biggest nightmare? I thought the last game was great, and being a NYer who went to school in Boston, I would look forward to the game. It would also mean seeing either a historic undefeated year or ‘the other’ NY team winning the game. I usually can’t watch many games due to the need to focus on work, but I’d watch that game.
QOTD-I’ve been trying to get to Tuscany for the past 2-3 years, but things keep interfering. Depending on our budget [and possible upcoming events in our kids’ lives], I hope to get there this year or next.
PS I’m curious in your obsession with the Supreme Court. I’m a physician, but one of my dream jobs would be to be a Supreme Court Justice.

QOTD: Napa and possibly Paso Robles

Heading to the hills of Virginia for some history and wine. Not my first choice but a chance to try something new.

No planned wine vacation. I am trying to get my favorite wine nerd to come and visit the best state in the nation!!!!!!!!!! ‘Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning’…………… 🙂

QOTD: Planning a little trip to the Atlanta area will check out wineries on the way.

It’s sweet that you’re getting into the Supreme Court. If you’re ever in DC, you have to go and check it out and hear an argument if you happen to go on a day that they are hearing arguments. Check out http://www.oyez.org. It is a great website dedicated to the Supreme Court and they have audio from the arguments. I suggest pick on of their cases on the home page and skip around within the video to listen to the various justices’ dialogue with the lawyer. Very interesting stuff. I was lucky enough to go to law school in DC and in my last semester (this past spring) attended an argument. It is truly inspiring. Also, studying the Constitution really opens one’s eyes to how great our country is and how brilliant our founders were. Glad to hear of your new interest.

dude – planned wine trip of 2008 will be to Oregon to visit my best friend, snowboard, and try some pinots.

QOTD: Well, between graduating from law school and studying for the bar exam I don’t see a wine vacation coming anytime soon. Though I am lobbying for the wife to let me come to NJ and see the Wine Library. Can I get a personalized tour???

QOTD: New York. Definitely a few days on Long Island and possibly a second trip to the Finger Lakes later on as well, maybe for harvest.

Southern Oregon. If you’ve never been there you’re missing out. Go to Ashland during the Shakespeare festival and cruise around to all the wineries in the area. And no it’s not pinot country but home to some great wineries such as Weisinger’s of Ashland! Just beware the bears in the vineyard.

QOTD: Planning a trip to Prague if all works out well.

No wine vacation plans. Do I need to clean my ears or DID YOU JUST ACCUSE FAVRE OF USING PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS????!!!!

QOTD: So far, just planning on going to the wine expo in Boston.

QOTD: Not really vacation, but traveling to take a somm test. Maybe if I can schedule it on the East coast. Court of Master Sommeliers has been slacking on putting up the 08 schedule!

QOTD: Going back to Europe in March and am either going to hit up Bordeaux or Cotes Du Rhone with dad and my girlfriend. Should be great times, I love both areas. Let’s see if I can try to get a little trip going to the WL!

Family Winemakers Tasting in SF in August. Gary if you haven’t been to one of these you need to go. 400 small wineries with great wines!

QOTD: Probably Argentina. Pls don’t stop sniffy sniff. I’m not sure you can top it.

QOTD: If this wine in front of me “Dunham Cellars – 2005 Three Legged Red” is as good as I have heard then the next drive thru Washington we will have to stop and meet the 3-legged fur ball that inspired this wine :).
