    QOTD:The trip that I went on to mainland China four years ago. It was a truly eye-opening experience and gave me a view on what so many people on our planet live like on a daily basis.

  • You are mad, you do realise that don’t you? 🙂 So the show continues, good, can’t disagree with that idea (but I wouldn’t object if you cut is back to 1 or 2 a week if you get busy).

    I loved this show, educator Vaynerchuk – a grape and a region I’d heard nothing about.

    QOTD – Depends on the definition of greatness? (…and by ruling out family it doesn’t leave much). 2 hours tramping around broken wreckage and burnt-out buildings in 1988 came to mind, but I was there by chance and couldn’t do much – there’s been no real defining moment to my life (so far). So basically I’ll go with being a tolerant, understanding and reasonably kind human being who treats other people with a fair amount of respect and helpfulness – if everyone did something similar the world would be a much greater place.

    GV: My first knowledge of Sangrantino was on my honeymoon in 1998 when I had a bottle of 1960 (yes that’s right 1960) Sangrantino at Medeo Evo restaurant in Assisi, Italy for approximately $20US (yes that right as well.)Unbelievable how well this wine tasted with that age in the bottle. This followe by the next day when my lovely bride and I were driving from Assisi to Montalcino and happened upon, inadvertently, the little town of Montefalco during the Sunday festival where all of the residence had formed with flower petals hundreds of “murals” on the main street. An incredible unexpected image that will stay with me forever. The tasting room was open and I purchased several bottles to bring home, having been so impressed with it the night before. Truly one of the great wines in the world. I haven’t thought about this for some time now, it being reawakened with your show. This leads me to my main point which is that while the Thunder Show and WLTV may have started as simply a guy tasting and recommending some wines in a back room it has evolved into something much greater than its original purposes and frankly something much greater than simply tasting wine, you have created and are the catylst of a “community” in the true sense of the word: a group of otherwise unconnected,random, disparate people who share experiences, histories, opinions, thoughts and life together all who look forward to each new episode as eagerly as they might be going home to kiss their kids at the end of the day. A true gift to all involved. Don’t let that slip away. Glad to have you “back on board” for the journey.

    I got back from vacation to hear your leaving, i was a little depressed, half thinking about going to Boston to see you, even though it would be a little bit of a fiscal disaster, those vacation bills wont pay themselves… wheres that stimulus package.

    I haven’t been catching the show regularly the last couple of weeks, still trying to get settled after the move. To echo everyone else’s statements, I’m very glad to hear that you are going to continue the Thunder Show. You’ve been a great resourse for us all, but we understand all the work you put in. If it gets to be too much, cut back to a show or two a week to give yourself some breathing room. We’ll still be here for you.

    QOTD: Probably volunteering for the Special Olymipcs.

    thanks for continuing. i have always thought that the best kinds of education teach you to ask more questions rather than providing solid answers, and wltv does that in a way nothing else i’ve seen in the wine world can. you rule.

    QOTD: Bringing my lovely girlfriend to France. I loved every instant of the entire 10 days because it made me realize how much I do care about her. That is one of the reasons I love the show because you put family first, and being that I am in the conversion process from a CKC to a real person I am realizing that more and more. She is an amazing woman and I am thankful for every minute with her. I hope that everyone else gets to have something similar with the ones they love. Much love and Respect GV glad to hear you are going to continue the show.

    QOTD: Honestly, probably becoming a foodie. It impacts my life in a positive way every single day, makes people around me happy, keeps me healthy, and I too enjoy the joy of people around the world giving a crap about what I do, think, etc when it comes to food.

    Cut it down to three episodes a week and hire someone to filter through your emails and reply to the ones that you get over and over again. I think people would understand.

    I think it’d be much cooler for you to be innovating in the wine and web worlds rather than getting burned out answering emails! Think about the big picture, people don’t expect Conan or Ellen to read every email that’s sent to them. You’re not there yet but it’s not worth burning yourself out or letting your family suffer from it.
