Okay, it may not be the best non-family experience of my life, but it certainly, but I finally got a chance to roll on down to the wine lib after a long day at work today, and it sure was the greatest thing I’ve done this week!

I also, btw, believe that it was me, with only a little bit of GV, that convinced him to keep going — nah…

I’m hugely excited that the show is going to continue. Something was telling me that you didn’t seem .. well .. done with it yet.

Terrific Show, glad your staying with us doing the THUNDER SHOW!!!!
I used to stick the garden hose in my mouth too, so much fun.
QOTD: Made a great meal and drank a good bottle of wine with my good friends!
Looking forward to the next 400 shows GV, the CKC’s thank you.

Gary, glad you are back. Your the only show I watch religiously every day. That includes blogs, TV, newpaper and other media. Hey, stop doing the email. The show is what we love. The star doesn’t have to do email every day. You have replied to me a few times and I appreciate it, but, family and your other passions come before answering emails to 1000s of people. I think that would make life much better. Also, stick a few advertisment up on page to pay for an assistant.

Never even heard of Sagrantino. That’s why we need you, Gary. Great show! We’re sooooo glad you aren’t stopping after 400 shows. And you know we’ll be watching.

QOTD: Man that’s tough. Carl says it’s too hard to think of one thing. I’d have to say its having a piece of artwork accepted to an international exhibition.

And we can breath again…seriously Gary, anything the Vaynernation can do to make your load a little lighter?

    Great Show!

QoTd: Playing golf with my best friend or just having a cigar.

Thanks so much for all you do! I’m glad you’re going to keep the thunder rolling.

Sometimes I wish I wasn’t a CKC — I’d love to try that last wine! But $78 is near my monthly budget for FOOD! Eek.

    Enjoy your weekend.

Great! Glad to hear you’re sticking around so Mott can get his daily massage.

QOTD: My life is very family oriented right now – the greatest non-family things I have ever done, hmmm, probably would be when I was in a rock band with a whole bunch of players from New Jersey, Queens & The Bronx (the bass player and I were the only californians). It’s where I learned to toughen up a bit and learn to appreciate good ‘ol east coast sarcasm. We gigged the heck out of San Francisco dives and man did we drink a ton of beer. That was then: nowdays I love to hang out with my wife and daughter and enjoy fine wine, good food and reasonable bedtimes. No regrets – actually I have never been happier in my life and I can still riff a mean myxolydian scale when I want to.

  • Thanks a ton for carrying on — I know it’s hard, but we need your kind of wine criticism out there! Otherwise, Wine Spectator and their kind will take over.

  • Gary, you made my day! I was really worried when you said you were stopping because over the past year or so you’ve become as close to a part of my family as a guy screaming into a camera over the internet could!

QOTD: I honestly can’t think of anything I’ve done that was worthwhile that didn’t include someone in my family in some way…

QOTD: Spending the weekend (been fortune twice) working on a Yosemite Fund project — digging holes, moving rocks, hauling dirt. Physically annilated at the end of an 8hr day, but so damn satisfied.

  • Thank you for once again opening my eyes to a new wine variety and region of the world. You bring the “Thunder” to each episode and that is what keeps me comming back for more shows each week. Glad to see that there will be more great shows in the future. Thank you for all of your hard work, and I think most don’t realize how much you do behind the scenes to make this happen.

QOTD: Traveling to Alba, Italy back in 1997 on an exchange trip. Amazing people and spectacular wines. I want to go back very soon and see more.

THE BOY IS BACK AND HERE TO STAY!!!

Hey…how could you of even thought to bail out on us (even though I knew you weren’t going anywhere;)….with the writers strike and all, you are in like flint baby…after all there is nothing else to watch :)…probably didn’t even think of that…did ya…tell the truth…come on!

  • Malphas

QotD: Best thing (non-family) I’ve ever done? Hmm, I’ll have to say that I confronted my inner fears and invested in setting up my own freelance artist career. Now I just gotta find clients and establish productive relationships.

I’m glad that we will CONTINUE to change the Wine World with you and WLTV.

Granted, you emphasize the point that it is just a little bit of you. Your presence in WLTV reminds me of a keystone. It’s just a little rock, nothing more. But step back and look at what that little old rock is doing.

    Bam.

OH yea….on a serious note (imagine that) I have never had a Sagrantino Di Montefalco….so I even learned something today (imagine that….2X now)….the Palo sounds like something that would fit nicely into my new venture into Sagrantino Di Montefalco.

  • QOTD: Wow, I had a really hard time thinking of an answer for this one. It’s too big a question. Maybe I’ll come back to it…
Gary. I’m glad you’re here now, today. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake. 🙂 Thanks.

  • QOTD: Every 4th of July a group of friends get together for a canoe trip on the Saco River in Maine. No cellphones, no work, nothing. Just good friends and good times.

  • ceewats

QOTD For me it would be getting some “me” time. Be it going grocery shopping, going to the gym, or hitting barnes and noble.

GV on a personal note it will make my weekdays to come home and catch up with you and Mott.

K, I am so happy that your staying. The best non-family experience that I have had was probably in the Philippines. There was this place called Gaines Beach. It was so primitive and beautiful. You had to take a bonka boat to get there, the place was so laid back, trails and waterfalls. I went with a bunch of friends, most of whom have become family now. Navy kinda does that…

  • Tgatesman

How could I stay mad at a face like that? I mean it’s so round it’s almost like Sputnik, spherical yet quite pointy in parts.
