Had to leave a note . . . lost my Mom and a friend/coworker in the past 3 weeks. Watching your show has brought back the smiles and laughter that is so needed during these times of shock and grief. Glad to know you aren’t leaving yet . . . like others, even once a week would be great so don’t quit entirely if you can handle the load.

QOTD: Sailing week in San Diego with my BFF learning how to sail with a bunch of other crazy women and without our husbands. All other great adventures involve family.

it’s good to hear you’re not ending the show. i dunno what i’d even do with my daily dose of GV. You’re just so GOD DARNED passionate about this stuff it’s ridunculous. Personally, i find ya to be the most entertaining personality on the net.

…with Mott coming in a close second 😉

  • NathanN

I learned something new again! Thanks GV & thanks for staying.

  • Jennifer

Just leaving a long overdue comment. Still watching & still loving the WLTV, GV. Just dropping a little love. Can’t believe how much I’ve learned about wine over the last year because of this.

QOTD: Two years in the Peace Corps in a Islamic country where wine is frowned upon. I grew up. I became mello, less full of myself. Learned the world is one place.

Gary, you have a more than a tiger by the tail. With your innocents, you have too much to do without help. Trade it out and make a team of this thing. A quarterback has 10 others on the field, a bench and coaches.

We are changing the world, not just the wine worldl. Look at what your family has done. You and us can make the world a better place even through wine. It has been done before starting with water. At times it is scary where you stand. I have never been where you are but ask for help. What you have done already if fantastic.

QOTD: Flying from NJ to Seattle with 4 friends to attend the Panthers/Seahawks NFC Championship Game in January 2006. Being there as the Hawks made their first Super Bowl was the greatest day of my life. Running around outside the Stadium afterwards screaming and hugging everyone. Thank God I was there.

QOTD: I graduated from law school last year, but before I started my career as an attorney, I volunteered at a Legal “Clinic” where I helped a middle age woman establish guardianship over two very young boys, whose mother had abandoned them. I didnt get paid for my time, at least not in dollars. I’ll never forget realizing that the blessings of my life are not for me to selfishly hoard. We’re all here to help one another, however we are fit to do so. The ironic thing is, I KNOW this woman (and her two boys) gave me so much more than I could ever give them.

  • Tim

QOTD: I that the answers to many QOTDs tend to be lighthearted or humorous but here is a serious one.

I few years ago I had to pair up with a classmate from high school to perform two-person CPR on a stranger, an older gentleman who had a heart attack. He was revived and, although he later died of complications while in the hospital, his family thanked us for giving them time to be with their father once more and to say goodbye.

For all of you out there that do not know CPR, take a class. Learn it. I hope you NEVER have to use it but, if you ever find yourself in a situation where someone is in trouble, youâ??ll be glad you did.

Really, cut back on the shows if you have to to save your sanity and enable you to keep doing this for the next 50 years.
    I’m looking for Sagrantino.
    Great shirt.
You have some nice friends. I enjoyed the links.
QOTD: I’ve had some great experiences with friends, but after awhile my friends start to count as family.

Gary, I’m very glad to hear that you will continue to do the Thunder Show. I know I was a bit harsh in my comments yesterday, but now that you have opened yourself to us, I can totally understand where you’re coming from, and I appreciate your candor. I guess I forgot how I, too, have gone through periods in my life when I felt overwhelmed and was convinced I needed to reset my priorities. And, in retrospect, I was wrong to say you “owe” us an explanation. You do not owe us anything, you have given so much already. I wish I lived in a state where I could receive shipments from your store, if only as a way of saying thank you for what you have done for us. Good luck and God bless as you push onward.

QOTD: Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for low-income families in Hungary, Kentucky, Ontario, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

    Amazing episode! Thanks GV!

QOTD: Skateboarding. May sound weird. But true. I’m 29 and hope my body can hold together to skate til I’m 50. I have never gotten more satisfaction, joy, and sense of accomplishment, than skateboarding has given me.

    I love this life

QOTD: Had to think about it sense I think you were sharing honest heart felt things today and the great thing I was involved in outside family things was when the May 3rd tornado came through OK and the amazing display of people spontaneously helping their neighbors and friends however they could. Just to have a small part of that was really incredible.

    Because YOU with….you know.

You have no idea how happy I am!!!!!! If you need to cut back then by all means do it but I am so glad you are staying! Well, once again I have a new area to check out that I never heard of thank you Gary.

Coolest thing? Hmmm Seeing Guns n’ Roses at the Forum in L.A. Surfing Rincon. Mtn Biking Backbone trail in the Santa Monica Mtns with a friend of mine. Getting my Teaching Credential. Drinking Silver Oak. My gymnast girlfriend in college.(ohhhh) Breaking 48 seconds in the 400m in H.S. Scoring my first Try in Rugby in college. Finishing Lonesome Dove. Getting a letter from a former 5th grade student telling me about her new school, friends, and how thankful that I was her teacher. The unexpected things are the most amazing.

    FORZA THUNDERSHOW!!!!
Hey Gary, Mott, and Crew. I haven’t been able to watch yoru shows over the past couple of days, so when my boss told me that you were ending the show I completely freaked out! The Thundershow is something that I look forward to everyday and has been as long as I’ve been into wine! (Honestly…I think I had my first glass of sine about 2 years ago.) So, I’m glad that you’re not ending the show!

On a side note, Gary, I just wanted to let you know (without sounding creepy) that when it comes to wine, you are an inspiration to me. By watching your shows not only have I learned so much about wine and the culture of wine, but how to relate to wine, how to talk about wine, and how to relate to other people when talking about or sharing wine. Because of you (along with a few others) I have developed a passion for wine….so thank you….your show has changed my life (for the better) more than you’ll ever know.

    Gary,

I haven’t been very good with commenting over the past week as recently life has been hectic and exhausting for me. First I’m very glad to hear that you are going to continue the show. Last night I went to my first Vayniac offline in NYC and it was a lot of fun (also thanks to Kristen for setting this up). Aside from meeting some Vayniacs, I also did a blind tasting for the first time ever and it was also the first time I have tasted so many wines at once, which ultimately taught me what my limit is before palate fatigue sets in.

Very cool episode today, Montefalco sounds like something I need to check out.

QOTD: I was a teaching assistant for a couple of semesters at my alma mater, which was very rewarding. I think in a few years I would like to try to become a professor in my chosen field, architecture.

I have played music ( guitar ) for 18 years. I have been in multiple bands. Those are all part of my family. I lived in Dallas Texas and studied Ninjutsu ( way of the NINJA ) for 5 years. We went on 5 survival camping trips. Very spiritual journeys!!!! Between both, I have many non- family family members. Gary, you have added your own sense of joy to my life. I recognize someone out in the world trying to achieve a dream. You have also inspired me in a way that will change my future business ventures on the WEB.. I alway’s dreamed of doing documentaries that are relavent to peoples everyday lives and my own. I also will incorporate a videoblog for fun. Keep your eyes out , and you will know when it hit’s. But I thank you!!!!! You help people get through the same day, after day!!! Also help to push us to do what it is we REALLY want to do!!! HAVE FUN!!!!!! LIVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!

STFU and do the show already … enough with the preamble. We get it…were lucky to have you and your luckier to have us. You are almost as ashamedly self-promoting as your WWF heroes. Please proceed with the swirly swirl and the sniffy sniff. I am starting to tire of your act but am grateful for your inspiration that I embrace my own palate. I am willing to bear further false modesty and demands for “love ” if the ratio of wine exploration is high.

    Respectfully, but Reservedly

Hot chicks dorm room? Nerdy Chemist? I love this friggin’ show!!! Thank you Gary for keeping the Thunder Show going!! And I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I have learned so much.

Honestly, I was attending my best friend and his wife’s birthday party tonight, and I was checking winelibrarytv.com on my phone to check the status of the show. You made it a very good evening and a great start to the weekend (as a side note, I got them both a great wine selection as a result of watching the show. Previously I would have never been able to pick a wine for them, but this year it was absolutely no problem). Thank you so much Gary!

    Thanks again Gary.

    Gary,
Another great show. DON’T QUIT! You’re very entertaining. We understand the stresses and burdens of 5 shows a week. Consider two or three shows a week. That should free up your time. And of course its all about time. (Is your wife giving you a hard time? We understand.)

I just found a flavorful cheap French Pinot Noir, “Pinot Evil”, about 7 bones. An upfront spicy fruit with a dry, slightly tanic finish. So much more action that the Cal Cabs or Aussie fruit bombs. Great drink at 7 bones, ( #7 Burt Jones, great arm)

QOTD: Favorite thing was a trip to Aspen and Vail, Co for a great skiing trip. I bought John Denver’s Greatest Hits and skied beautiful country with my wife and great friend. It was sweet.
