Totally agree about the heat problem, would have had a great cab yesterday if it wasn't for the heat from the 14.9 alcohol completely killing it.

Cool idea with the Veggie episode- I’ll forward it to my Veg friends. QOTD: I would if I had the tech knowledge to participate. Instead, I’ll trudge along with me random forwarding of shows to people.

Excellent article in the Washington Post. I passed that on to friends that I have been trying to get to become regular viewers.

I would have like to have seen a little more pairing tasting with your thoughts like you do with the cheese.

You know, Gary, it is kind of shocking to see you waste wine. Wouldn’t some of the staff like to taste the wines after you’re done? If you used a new clean glass for each taste, would you have to rinse?

    Hey Gary
Nice show, Gewurztraminer is something i really like but don’t drink that often! time to go out and get a bottle!

    QOTD: Let’s forward the linky-link!

PS Y is being vegetarian automatically healthier way of eating? I don’t see how a vegetarian diet is supperior to a regular, ballanced diet! C’mon! I love vegetarian food but i’m not unhealthy because i eat red meat…

  • Fantastic episode (sorry my comment comes a bit late, like a couple of days). After the Golddust comment from a couple of weeks ago, huge follow-up with the ref to his dad Dusty. I marked out like crazy.

QOTD: Since I’m posted in Turkey, I have to rely on the internets to get the word out (and I’ve been trying)… more to come.

    GV,

When I was in the Scouts, we roasted marshmallows, not mushrooms. Kids today have it so good!

So whadda they prefer – crimini or porcini?

    Regards,

    Rachel Ray

I’m a longtime vegetarian, and I LOVE that you did this show. Not a big fan of Gewurztraminer, but I’m definitely going to give it another shot with food. However, you picked very light veggie food. I often make richer, fattier veggie stuff like mushroom cream sauces–they stand up very well to reds. Any chance of getting another show featuring veg food paired with reds?

I don’t have a blog, but I’ve told all my wine friends about the show.

How to spread the Thunder…? How about someone holding a “tv.winelibrary.com” banner at the Super Bowl?

    Gary, another fantastic show!!

Spread the thunder- Yea! I send video links to friends and I think it would be cool to have a wine tasting like we did with the Christmas Pack- but make the selections available earlier- then we could all watch and compare with you- just select wines that most of us can afford. I love Gewurz- I grew up on the 5 bone version made by Fetzer/ In those days you could bring a 5 gallon jug to the winery and the kids of the Fetzer family would filler up with the house red wine= hmmm hpw things have changed, Will try the Alsace soon/ Wow- was that really Rachel Ray that left the comment below?

Gary, Interesting show today. Cool subject even though I am far from vegetarian.

  • GV-

    Cool episode!

QOTD: I’m still thinking about this. Probably gonna send an email out to the Wine Club peeps. Probably going to wear a wristband all day. Probably going to post on my blog. Probably going to change my facebook profile to something WL-ish.

This was a great episode and it is too bad if many of the vayniaks did not get to see this one. Gary was on fire and the pairings with the food were great. I think that this episode was deeper than what was seen. Lots of thought and insight into future episodes.

QOTD: Not a clue, I have had a hard time finding wine drinker in our area.

  • Great show! I’m a vegetarian and appreciate the effort. However, the paring with food seemed to get lost. No biggy though. How about a show with big reds for super unhealthy vegetarian food? Think rich creamy alfredo sauce or three cheese lasagna.

Can’t wait for the big FOUR HUNDRED on Monday.

  • Gary,
Thanks for showing some pairings with some middle eastern foods.
I will post a blog with comments from fellow Vayniacs on why they love WLTV on my food and wine pairing blog.
