OMG! Just had the 04 Delas Herimtage Bessard last night, I have to say that it’s the most balanced and well made wine I’ve ever tasted. The balance is crazy and combined with a ton of subtle lovely nuances it makes it almost worth the price tag ($110 is still quite above my normal range).

    Thank God the Freemark Abbey Cab didn’t REALLY score. I think we should boycott them for this simple reason: they were the first California winery, to my knowledge, to start charging for tasting and therefore opening the floodgates for the stupidity that is going on now 🙂

    No joke, it took me about ten or fifteen episodes to figure out you were saying ‘Mott’, not ‘Ma’. Like your mother was on the other side of the camera shooting the show. Must be an East Coast/West Coast thing that was lost in translation.

    gv—— i could not agree with you more in regards to the mushroom cloud of uber concentrate in a can flavors from many of the aussie wines. perhaps the grapes lack deapth or finesse @ harvest. or, are allowed to over ripen soooooooooooo long, that the only solution to fix it is to produce the over the top nuke in a bottle. which is crap. jett
