  • QOTD: We moved into our new house and in the past 6 months I finished the wine cellar. It is a small space in the basement (11′ X 3.5′) under the stairs. I have two bottle deep Vintage View racks along one side and a standard rack in the back for bulk bottle storage. I love the Vintage View racks, very clever design. http://www.winemastercellars.com/

  • QOTD: That’s kind of easy and odd – my pregnant wife. I am not complaining in the least as we’ll have a baby any day now, but wow have I had to drink different stuff. That’s the change, not that I’ve had less, but that she’s asked me not to open the “good” stuff in our little wine cellar/cooler but stick to what I refer to as drinkable table stuff. It gives you a better appreciation for well-made wine and at the same time, surprises you occasionally with a good bargain.

QotD: Drinking wine daily, keeping several bottles open at the same time. Usually 2 whites and two reds and a dessert wine. I often try more than one with each meal.

QOTD- Similar to my experimentations with red wine varieties, I’m now tasting many varieties of white wine.

QOTD – watching this show; it’s made me step up my game at work, and made me think more about my family relations, while providing much-needed comic relief in the progress. Thank you Gary.

Nice to see the Laid back couch episode return. Friday’s are the best days……they are the day I get to spend with my wife and kids with no work.

QOTD: I must say that the last 3 months for me have been full of personal change and improvement, but for me the last six months have been full of stepping outside the normal wine path and looking for something new and different. I have tried many wines I would never have tried or been afraid to try before. Gary, you havee openedmy eyes beyond the over marketed everyday find wines.

I enjoy your show, and I would subscribe, but it wouldnt change the frequency that I watch. I would be more likely to subscribe to you in a youtube channel. I subscribe to many vloggers on there and it is my central video site. Just a thought, thank you for your reviews and energy.

QOTD: I moved from Australia to London and started really appreciating wines other than big Australian fruit bombs. It’s not been easy but the more I try the more I can appreciate aspects other than fruit and masses of alcohol.

Can’t wait for the Big 4-0-0! QOTD: I’ve actually been getting more interested in wines over the last year. I decided that once I get into my new house, I’m going to build a cellar, even if it is only a small one.

QOTD – other than watching WLTV, in the past 6 months, i was able to re-organize my wine collection and start adding to it. i would also say that my tastes are swinging from zin to more rhone styles…

  • The main thing that changed since I watch the show, is that now I know what to chose from the wine list when I go to a restaurant, and that is a AWESOME feeling!!!
Thank Gary, You’re the king of the world (of wine) ^^

QOTD: I have a nice collection of wine and enjoy it on a regular basis.

not sure if this counts, but i bought several bottles of the 2005 montes alpha syrah in october. i had one bottle then which had very nice blueberry, blackberry notes with some hints of oak which was nice, but the wine didn’t knock me off my feet. the other night, i opened it with a couple friends, some are just getting into wine and they like the oak and fruit combo. This time the wine had the same blackberry/blueberry notes followed by a very interesting blast of petrol, gaminess that took over the bouquet. the taste had evolved too to reflect this with dark blue and black fruits on the attack, followed by this petrol and spice tastes, a lot like some northern rhone wines i’ve had. i loved it, but my friends who like the oak monster were turned off by it. too me it’s the quickest i’ve seen a wine evolve. maybe my nose and tastes changed, if so, i’ve got to figure out how.

Another great laid back friday. To bad I couldn’t enjoy it on friday. Down with the commercials, and many injury’s during the game today.

QOTD: To be honest the biggest change I have experienced would have to be watching you show everyday. I have so much more incentive to really enjoy wines and try a larger variety more often. Whether the whirly whirl, sniffy sniff or tasty taste, its given the experience of trying new wines a greater joy.

    THANK YOU GV!

I’ve been trying to bring my family into wine. I’ve not been into wine very long, but it’s so much more fun when sharing it with friends and family.

Statement on the Falesco. Last year when the Vitiano scored high I bought one bottle that I loved and then bought 3 more. Of the last three bottles, I only found one of them to be as good as the first and the other two to be BAD. This winery appears to have problems with their high volume wines.

QOTD: I started collecting about 2 years ago and have been slowly acquiring wines and staying within my budget. In the last six months I have gotten freakin nuts with 05′ French wines. I keep convincing myself I have to buy “blank” now or it will disappear. In doing this I have almost driven myself into the poor house. But I now how some really nice Bordeaux and Burgundy coming in!
