I am somewhat embarrassed to say this but until six months or so ago when friends came over I would assess their “wine worthiness’ when deciding what to open. Now I open the best bottle I have since these are my friends. I don’t care if they can’t tell a California over oaked over ripe Chardonnay from a Grand Cru Montrachet, I need to know I am giving my best. It’s not about the wine it’s about who you are. QOTD: In the past six months, I’ve been on a wine tour of France, I haven’t left the country, but I have been to bordeaux, burgandy, loire…etc, I am now in Rhone with plans to start touring Italy soon.

Started drinking more Languedoc/Rousillon wines

Don’t ban me! Just because I’m antisocial doesn’t mean I don’t love you, man! 🙂 But seriously, WLTV really has changed my life and gotten me more excited and more diligent about trying more wines and enriching my life, because to me, that’s what wine is all about. Wine has brought my father and I even closer together as we try 3-5 new wines each week and we talk about it with each other and compare our tasting notes. I’m SO glad you decided to keep going (I was heartbroken, btw) and I hope you never stop. Much love, Gary.

QOTD: after discovering WLTV my checking acct seems to have far less money.

QOTD: I’ve added more whites to what I’m tasting, no longer stuck on red only. And I definitely “play” with the wines – pop and pour, decant, leave open for a day, etc.

First thing first – I don’t know if you RULE but that was 3 great eps in a row (IMHO). Next, just got off the phone with my bro while watching and told him I love him, but I have a dozen people to call tonight for curfew check (don’t ask) and will not be telling them I love ’em. Last, I am drinking the Domaine Sante Leocadie you recommended last week(?) and it ROCKS! Thank you so much!!!

QOTD: Two big changes in the past 6-12 months. I have changes the way I buy wine, (good or bad?)as I now buy from WL more than my local guy and I have probably ventured out a bit more in the type of wines I buy. Varietals I had never tried before etc. Again, a big THANK you for the latter.

forgot to include I’m drinking the Minervois with two different cheeses (aged gooda and a blue) along with some smoking good olives from Whole Foods! Life is good no matter what the “Market” does!

QOTD: I’ve been spending a whole lot less money on wine because, the times they are a changing. And I’m falling in love with right bank Merlot from Fronsac! Never a bottle that doesn’t taste like chocolate.

Hey Garry… I’m new to the show (2 weeks) – Found out about it in The Globe and Mail (Canadian paper), I’m hooked! – You ABSOLUTELY ROCK!

QOTD: Since I’ve been watching, I’ve been trying new stuff and I’m paying more attention when tasting… This is great, it’s like re-discovering wine again!

QOTD: over the last six months I’ve ventured into more expensive wine. I’m a CKC so I traditionally stick to cheaper wine ($8-20 region), but not just for the price. Having an untrained palette I often feel I won’t fully appreciate pricey stuff. Now I feel a little more confident and ready to throw the dice and roll hard on the good stuff.

I’m also getting into white wine. I think young people like me are initially attracted to fruit-bomb reds.
