qotd: I gotta go w day boat sea scallops, w raw oysters a close 2nd when it comes to mollusc's and lobster or crab when it comes to crustaceans. But that's a really tough question since I love all shellfish.

Love Madiran, haven't had the one by Laplace, but I have had their Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh Sec

great show. learning about lesser-known wine regions is really helpful. I’d love to see more shows that talk about pairings.

    qotd: lobster or crab.

QOTD: Most definitely lobster. Actually going to a “Lobster Mania” cooking class this weekend at the local Central Market. There’s nothing tastier than a real Lobster Roll from a small stand on the coast of Maine.

Lobster is definitely my favorie shellfish. I apgree that Potugese wines are the best QPR. Australia would be my next choice.

…great song….you should sew the song into the next T-shirt, U-know like the greeting cards that sing.

I am unofficially giving a name to this flavor profile of (wet hay/horse poop) that makes its appearance from time to time on the thunder show…..How about “FARMER BRETT”

Very nice song. I think we all need to dip into our creative selves and spread the thunder with poetry, art, music, dance….

QOTD: There are so many awesome shellfish choices, it’s hard to pick! Top picks are fresh live Maine lobster, raw oysters, and soft shell crabs.

  • Great episode. I’m looking forward to this series, first because I love Portugese wine and second because more variety!!! Great theme song. I don’t stand a chance of winning the “Bring the Thunder” contest, all I do is link episodes of WineLibraryTV on my wine blog.

QOTD: Lobster, or maybe it’s crab, no, no, its crawfish!

Sarah….that was an amazing song! You really brought the thunder with that one!!!

Gary…thank you for bringing out vino from Portugal!
My fiancee, Jenna, (who’s family comes from Portugal) and I are getting married in May and we are going to Cascais for our honeymoon! Because planning a wedding can be really fun, although stressful, we’ve been buying and drinking lots of wines from Portugal. So, again, thank you….anything with the word “Portugal” in it has brought Jenna and I a lot of joy!!

  • George from NEPA

I can’t say I have a favorite. I LOVE all shellfish!! I could eat it all day every day.

  • Fantastic episode. I think Portugal (especially douros) is producing AMAZING wines. I’m not saying that just because you say it like every 45 seconds on WLTV, but because the douros I’ve had were in the $30-40 range and easily tasted like $60+ bottles. Amazing QPR.

QOTD: I’d have to say lobster. I think it’s the most delicious, and European lobsters always tasted better than Maine lobsters. Both are insanely delicious if cooked properly. Sea urchin roe and octopus are favorites, too.

Where have you BEEN?! Check that. Where have I been? What a sweet discovery the day Mark Morford (SF Gate) pointed me in your direction! and #148 is a classic among classics. Thanks for getting out there and encouraging all to channel our inner Vay.
