QOTD: I’m always experimenting with wines new to me — have lately really enjoyed a couple of Ruedas.

I just finished listening and haven’t acted on the demand yet, apart from kissing one of the kitty-cats who’s lying on my shoulder. But my husband (and the other kitties) will surely get some kisses tonight. And I’ve identified at least four people that I’ll call or email tomorrow.

Columbia Valley WA Cellarmaster’s Riesling is is my top favorite, they are consistent year after year. BTW some of Columbia Valley’s producers are growing grapes on European vines with original rootstock.

To start off: Brandon T., I appreciate what you have to say there. Let’s care about more than just ourselves. Diversity of opinion and belief strengthens our country as long as each of us realizes that.

DOTD: Father-In-Law is about to go in for some cancer therapy. Since I feel as you do, GV, about family, there is no question that he will hear from me and his son tomorrow. I believe that my father-in-law will be fine (thank God). But, thanks, GV, for reminding everyone just how important the peeps are.

QOTD: Hate to admit it, but I have been buying a few whites lately. Preference is for Sauv Blancs and Reislings.

QOTD: Had a Bruno Giacosa Roero Arneis last night which was very enjoyable, but German Rieslings do it for me the most.

I have this friend who has a very demanding job but also finds time to do a daily internet video, over 400 so far! It is very entertaining, but I worry about the time commitment and I am afraid he doesn’t have enough time left for those he loves most; his bride, parents, and siblings. I don’t really know how to tell him how much I enjoy his work but if it is coming at the expense of his family I don’t want it…your pal, r.

QOTD: Tried a California Chenin Blanc (Dry Creek) for first time last week. Not bad with seafood and seemed better on day 2.
DOTD: Gave my teenage son a hug (instead of a lecture).

QOTD: Viognier

Favorite new white: TORRONTES. Used it to celebrate Chinese New Year yesterday with family and friends. Love the bright lychee aromas for Chinese, Thai, Indian food. Similar aroma to Gewurztraminer, though very different in the mouth than Gewurztraminer. I’ve had a few different Torrontes and love ’em.

Like ALBARINO not quite as much, as it seems to be a blend of Muscadet and Macon in about 60/40 proportion to me. But will try more. I’ve had two Albarino so far.

QOTD: The Cazin Cour-Cheverny Cuvee Renaissance, it’s a little wine I never heard of, took a chance and loved it. The grape is a Romorantin. I have never heard if it, but it’s like chewing dried fruit but not in an offensive way, really a cool thing to try.

To my wife, the best thing that has ever happened to me!!! Thanks Baby.

Wow, I really needed this episode. Tonight I sang at a funeral for a really wonderful man, who left behind four children (in their 20s) and a wife. There were maybe 1,200 people at the service – he was a beloved professor. When I got home from the funeral there were my husband and Vivian, and we danced and hugged and sang together. So tonight I already emailed my mom, dad, and sister to tell them how much I love them.

My new fave white wine? I’m drinking a New Zealand Chardonnay right now… lots of honey and apple and buttered popcorn on the nose. And I’m drinking it at room temp, something new for me since watching the Thunder Show.

QOTD: I’m torn between Albarino and Torrontes–neither of which I had ever even heard of pre-WLTV. If I had to choose between the two (but I don’t, do I?) I guess I’d go with the Albarino. However, I just found a Falanghina this weekend, so who knows how long Albarino will remain on top.

Too late to call anyone because my wife & daughter are sleeping, but had an awesome day off hanging out with them and my crazy puppy, Miles. Will call my mom and dad tomorrow along with a good friend who just got laid off.

QOTD- Albarino- had it 3 times and have really enjoyed it.
