You are always so disrespectful with the wine and the work that went in it by pooring half of the wine away.

    Cool…3.

Gary, you think Craggy Range is similar to Clonakilla?

QOTD: Mom is coming up to visit, so we’ll be going out for a nice dinner. Hmm…maybe I’ll take a nice Pinot Noir with me… 🙂

  • No show at the SWRA event on Wednesday? I was hoping to meet the “celeb” of on line wine retailing. Maybe next time. Your site rocks!

Another interesting fight, keep’em coming Gary!

QOTD: incidentally for this weekend I planned a duel of 2004 Louis Mousset, Blason Rouge, Crozes-Hermitage (a little bit cheaper then today’s episode wines, but also 100% syrah from France) vs. some syrah from Argentina, still unknown which one – any recommendations in the 16$-20$ price range?

  • Martin

Wow! I haven’t even been in the top 100 in months. Happy leap day.

  • QOTD: Tonight, my hedonistic approach to beating the cold is a Malbec-Argentina (have decanted it and it should be nice and OPENED up for imbibing soon).
Gary- I wanna sit on that couch with you! Laid back Friday needs a co-host!
Spreading the Thunder as Always! Cheers.

I have wristband #2 and just got #3 (thanks!). Rub it in that I didn’t get into wines until a year ago. 🙁

I just got back from a 4 day visit to Napa. The 5 cases of wine that I purchased are showing up, so I’m drinking Napa Cabs, Zins and blends this weekend. Probably lots of them!! Whew Whoo!!

  • I tasted the 2005 Le Sol recently, great stuff even though I’m not sure how it stacked up compared with a nice Cote Rotie or similar….

I only have the first two of the three wristbands….waiting to get my 3rd somehow!!

The 5 finger punt thing never gets old. 😮 (Like Mott’s little laugh in the background…lol)

MMM – nothing like a little wet paper and toner ink notes in a wine. Gotta love that – bet RP, JS or ST have never done that – way to keep changing the wine world GV!

The last horseradish nose I had (with a little rubber in it) was a syrah – a very memorable nose!

QOTD: Not sure, prolly visit Argentina or Chile.

  • musicmanryan

I loved the DB Bistro reference! I have had one of those burgers–amazing!

QOTD-I visiting my Mom this weekend, so I know she will have a lot of chilled Australia Chardonnay waiting for me when I get there.

  • Nice. Love the head-to-heads.

QOTD: This weekend? Cheap white wines. I tend to ignore the bottom of the price barrel, so I’m takin’ a spin through a few to see if I can find anything. Which I have. Barefoot Pinot Gris – lemon, grapefruit, and fuzzy peach-fest with a solid mouthfeel for $7.50 CDN, which means you can buy it in the US for $0.25 USD, of course.
