    OMG, top 10 ftw.

Ugh. Anyway, hard cider? Gary, I love the change of scenery sometimes!

From upstate NY originally and there’s tons of hard cider up there. We drank everything from farm stand/mason jar type stuff to those ones that came in 6 packs like beer that were hot for about 10 minutes in the 90’s – I think it was called Woodchuck or something like that.

I’m not really a cider person but it’s ok once in a while.

Nice show as always – keep up the good work!

QOTD: Yes, I’ve tried cider, but not recently enough to know or care how they tasted. You know, it was way back when I was still trying to like the taste of alcohol! I really love apple cider (non-alch.) but I haven’t explorerd it beyond that.

Cool episode today, different but something I never really paid attention to. I just thought Martinelli was the only sparkiling apple juice, although it pales in comparison to MOTT’S apple juice of course.
    QOTD- No

Not only have I had many hard ciders, but I’ve made it myself. It was kind of a one and done thing though. I’m not a huge fan of it but it’s okay.

QOTD: I like Hornsby’s Granny Smith type. It’s hard to find too many types down here in SoCal. Hornsby’s is the name brand here. Only seen one other type, Beaver something I think, and it was like sour apple candy soda; not my style at all. Hornsby’s is good though. Tastes like real apples.

I have had Woodchuck, but no thunder was brought. Also, someone tired to get me to mix my champagne with it and I almost punched them in the face

QOTD: Never had a hard cider. Love the plain suff though and I agree it reminds me of Thanksgiving/Fall.

  • Dr T from N. Carolina

QOTD — never had sparkling hard cider (lots of fresh as a kid of course). I have had cider from Brittany and Normandy (nice, esp. for autumn casual get togethers) but I don’t remember the brands

QOTD–Sutliff Sparking Cider from Sutliff, Iowa is the only one I have had. a bottle is half the price of the Farnum’s and it is delicious and refreshing. I drank it a lot this past year on hot summer days, and it really hit the spot!

Mott and GV -I love the change of pace. Just as ‘we’ got ripped on some tasty vodka for epidsode 400, we’re drifting into other adult beverages that bring great pleasure… A.K.A. SERIOUS THUNDER!! ;). I’d love to see someone else step up to the plate and do a video blog on whisk(e)y. Where’s Jim Murray at on that one? Scared of technology?!? Magazines are just a waste of paper!

QOTD: The only hard cider I’ve had is Hornsby’s and it wasn’t my sort of thing. I tend to like rich flavors over crisp flavors…

QOTD: I’ve had quite a few that I can’t rember the name of. I think they taste good, but I find myself getting headaches from them. Actually, in Europe namely England un-pastuerized cider is banned from many pubs because it stirs up fights?Weird?

QOTD: I love cider. Cider cider cider – down into my belly. I actually prefer perry though. (pear cider) I had Eric Bordelet Poiré “Granit” the other night at a restaurant and it was out of this world. Creamy like a great champagne with just a little acidity to make it food friendly.

On another note – I am still waiting for Gary to do the mead show he promised me. Get with it Vaynerchuk.
