I commute from San Diego to LAX, thanks for the podcasts!

QOTD: Music, music and more music, I am a local singer, musician, songwriter in Miami, FL. My main genre is Latin, and if you really want to narrow it down: Salsa, but I do a little bit of everything. I have a regular gig on Saturdays at David Place, in Miami. I recently started a podcast called Tropical Music with Robertico.

Went to a Rustenberg tasting a while back. They are serious winemakers. A nice blend of old world passion and new world technology. A South African vineyard that thinks Pinotage is a joke. Interesting. They do tend towards the oak monster but they get top shelf QPR rankings in my book.

Edmeades is pronounced Ed-Meads (as in Ed-Reads). The last e is silent.

It’s a KJ artisan estate brand. They do make quacktastic zins, like Hartford makes tasty Pinot.

The word on the street is that Edmeades used to have a tasting room in Alexander Valley, but they couldn’t keep it staffed with people whose oral hygiene was up to par with the brand’s desired image. Edmeades makes other zins that are better, just like Hartford makes several Pinots. But, Edmeades prices are much much more affordable.

I think it’s great showing the softer side of the show for the ladies; Good job Gary. A little streotypical throwing the white wine at the ladies instead of a red though. Just kidding.

QOTD- three things I’m very pasionate about besides my wife…Ultimate Fighting Championship- mixed martial arts has absolutely the most impressive athletes of any sport; Art- fine arts, movies, books…I’m humbled by the creativity of human beings; Winemaking- until you make your own I don’t think you can truly understand wine…and everyone…EVERYONE can make their own in their basement, garage, or wherever from juices from all over the world.

I’ve loved the Clos the Prieur 2001 and 2003. Glad to see the 2005 is showing nice! It’s a good producer. I’m also glad to see they’ve been able to go back to calling it “Clos” after they had some legal issues I think because the vineyard was not actually enclosed or fenced (clos).

Family, family, family. If GV says Mott is like family, then it is time to put the tee-shirt where the mouth is! Where’s the LINK IT UP MOTT shirt, already?
QOTD: As GV is passionate about his work, I am passionate about my work and communicating the relevant bits to the peeps. The stuff my colleageus and I work on (scientific research that has societal relevance) may not be as much fun as changing the wine world, but seeing it gain recognition in the public sphere is both exhilarating and humbling. Now if we just had somebody like the Mottster to help us spread our version of the thunder.

Passionate about fine cigars, Montecristo #2″s chocolate, vanilla and fresh bread. smoke it till it burns your finger tips..
