Gary in the hizzy and chillin with his homies. Nice laid back EP. Regarding the wine, I have to say that I tried the Playmates, and my enthusiasm stopped with the label. Don’t get me wrong I love the OZ bombs, but I did not find this blend to be harmonious at all, and was put off by the fakey-fake fruit (including the weird citrus component which gave it more of an alcoholic feeling than the 14.5) and some rather harsh tannins in the finish. For me at 16 bones it was a triple Passzzz (one for each varietal). Would much rather drink the Torbreck Woodcutter’s at the exact same price. More importantly, reading through the comments your QOTD seems to have inspired many wonderful, different philosophical answers, which is cool. My answer is that luck is the realization of the love that is in your heart, made transparent to the world through passion and gratitude.

QOTD: You are so lucky because I watch the show. Seriously, luck is the result of good fortune despite the lack of planning. You are not lucky, you are successful. Don’t sell yourself short by saying it is luck, you work very hard for the luxuries you enjoy. Have fun and enjoy them!

Also, this episode is driving me crazy because of the reference to the “little cartons with gum in them”. You just blew the dust off of some memories in my brain. I completely remember those and I am dying to know what it was called. So if you figure it out, clue me in!!!!

QOTD: Gary, you are lucky to be able to see the good fortune you have. Many have just as good of lives, and don’t see how good they have it. I’m glad you appreciate it, we should all feel lucky for what we have (I know I do) =)

Having visited you Gourmet shop recently, and watching you try all those cheeses I’d like to taste, makes me wonder if you could work a way to ship a cheese of the month? I would like to be the first to sign up. You’re lucky because you get to do what you love to do,get paid for it,and get to make others happy at the same time. I feel the same way doing cosmetic dentistry. That’s why I’m still working well past retirement age. Jerry the 2thdr &Ann Mrs.2thdr

I tried this wine a few months back and hated it. I usually don’t like a 92 parker scored ausie though. If you tried one you tried them all. I do love a good shiraz. My favorite of all time is the 2001 shirvington. Still avaliable if you look for it.

QOTD: You are so lucky because you are not waiting to be happy and you enjoy the now. It is always so sad to see people who are waiting for that next thing to make them happy and even once it arrives they are now waiting on something else. Last night I hung out with some friends and we sat around a fire and drank wine and home brewed beers. We all felt so lucky to know each other and to be able to have such a good time. Ah life is good my friend.

    Dear Gary,
My wife just forced me to watch you on Conan & Ellen. I think I am a fan… you are hilarious. My favorite wine is the Stag’s Leap 2004 Artemus(& prior years too). My problem is that I can’t afford to buy it regularly. Can you recommend any wines that approximate it in flavor but more affordable? I look all the time but am always disappointed.
My nephew works at your store–Neil Tortorelli–he is trying to become a beer expert. Why can’t you train him to become a wine expert so the whole family can benefit?!! His mother thinks I look and act like conan. He’s a good boy!
I hope you can help me with the Artemus question.
    Your new fan,

Gary…It was really cool to see a wine and cheese show. I’ve been watching for about 3 weeks now. My wife thinks I’m crazy, but this is the new medium for entertainment. Great show. Keep up the good work.

QOTD: I think you love what you do and you work hard at it. You must have good people around you too. That’s huge. I feel the love man!

That goofy number you said to call on the chalk board behind you does not work. Whats up with that???

You’re lucky because you’re doing what you like and working hard at it.
I went to Neal’s Yard Dairy in London. They have a place near the Borough Market. I had some Old Pilcher Cheese, which tasted like it had been made with pineapple juice.

Man you just made me chill out just by watching this episode. Definitely I like the label on the fetish, alone it’s worth the 16 bones :-). Well, a lot of people say that we make or own luck while others say that we happen to be at the right place at the right time. I think it’s a mix of both for you, with definitely your character, passion and tenacity being major factors…Keep it G, we love ya…Cheers!
