This is the first time I’ve commented. I found WLTV about a month ago and have been lurking while catching up on the episodes, starting at #1. I reached a milestone tonight, #100. What a ride so far!

I enjoy WLTV and am *proud* to come out and count myself among the Vayner Nation!

I’ve been a “dilletante wino” since the early ’80s, and only starting to get a bit more serious lately. I enjoy a broad range of old- and new- world style wines. Tonight I’m just polishing off the last of a pretty fair Argentine Cab (Kaiken’s 2005 reserve).

Question: I know you like some of the wines from Ridge. I got tuned on to Ridge in the mid 80’s and was quite fond of their York Creek Zin, which I recall as real monster that probably was responsible for igniting my interest in “real” wines. I probably drank at least a couple cases of the stuff over the years, but haven’t had a bottle since the mid-90’s. I’d like to hear your opinion on it today and see if you think it’s worth the 30 bones before I go out and buy a few for my cellar again.

I’m lovin’ the idea of your book being out there Gary – Congrats!

I’d have thought you could’ve found 365 wines to bring the thunder though (the copy of the book you’re waving around looks a little thin). Have you incorporated of your wine stories into this edition or are you saving those tales for the sequel? I’m more interested in that fun “behind the scenes” action myself!

This is most excellent! Plus, I was going to give my sister a selection of wine as part of her wedding gift next week. I plan on putting in an “IOU” of sorts for her for the book now as well.
