  • I’ve been rocking quite a bit of Rully and St. Aubin lately, but my next bottle is likely to be a 06 Beaujolais Blanc from Terres Dorees. I guess that slides by as Burgundy on a technicality, but it’s a great reasonably priced wine from a natural producer. Some of the Thierry et Pascale whites are also on this list namely the Meursault Les Chevaliers.

  • Next one up in the line of Montrachet os :e Montrachet 1996. I have 3 bottles of both of your higher end Montrachets and while I love them the price has doubled in 3 years from what I paid. Rolling on $60 and $70 wines on any regular basis is over my pay grade. I have never had good feelings about the Latour as they have seemed too hot and oaky for the last 6-7 years. Surprisingly, the price of these have not climbed as much. They were $30 3-4 years ago and a 25% increase with the dollars fall is not that bad. Just wish I liked them better.

QOTD–Sorry, but at those prices, I won’t be having a white Burgundy any time soon

QOTD: I have always been a white Burgundy fan. I usually drink Pouilly-Fuissé, actually that might be my favorite white wine. There seem to be lots of choices in the 15 dollar range.

Wont be throwing down $70 bones for any. Picked up some 2000 Chateau Fuisse for under $20 so hope that qualifies. Would be nice if you can taste and recommend some “affordable” white burgs, that have some thunder and we can find. Thanks!

  • I have still to “get” white burgundy, and haven’t tried any of the specific white AOCs, only a generic Bourgogne Blanc and, of course, Chablis.

I have a St. Aubin ready to try, but I fear it will be many months yet before I purchase/try anything more adventurous from here.

has any presidential campaign considered Gary as V.P.? and also wondering if possibly Gary could invite a pretty girl to slather sweet chardonnay grapes all over his bum while they smear petit verdot jam while laughing reciting poems with excellent sexuality?

QOTD: Whatever I can find that’s in the budget.

Good show. I have been trying all kinds of chardonnay lately in preparation for summer. I’d like to see some more of the finer whites on the show as the weather warms up. Maybe some spanish whites too. And some dry riesling. Yeah…
