QOTD: just keep doing what you’re doing!

  • Ray

    QOTD – I have a few recommendations.

    1. 1999 Hanna Bismark Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon – excellent with a grilled Ribeye.
    2. 2003 Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon
    3. 2005 Montes Alpha Syrah – these 2 at $12/bottle are excellent.

  • Why do you hate MJ?

QOTD: I recently had the 2004 Chateau Beaumont Haut-Medoc (only $20). This wine and my pal became best friends. Awesome.

Nice call on Vernon Gholston. I recomend you tying “The Show 2005” on the thunder show. It has a nice symmetry to it.

episode is a little disappointing. was expecting from the title a kosher wine episode but was only given one. gary, you should try the baron herzog special reserve white riesling. that one was great.

95 points for the shya? come on. and 90 for the syrah? dude, your number system was screwy today- get back to the couch!

QOTD: have some dalton’s syrah or yarden’s merlot 2002 or goose bay sauv blanc 2005.

    and don’t crush the matzah

  • QOTD: I recommend you try some wines from some of the vineyards near my home in Connecticut. Stonington Vineyards has a great Cabernet Franc and recently I had the Jonathan Edwards 2005 Napa Valley Petite Sirah (the grapes are grown in Napa, but the wine is made in CT). It was outstanding.

I recommend you do a show on wines with crazy names. I just had a Hungarian wine called Bull’s Blood. It was cheap and ok.

I also recommend doing a show about different ways to transport wine, which are better, how to remove corks, neat things you can do with corks with a tie in to user submitted creations.

My recommendation? Gotta try some Humboldt Fog goat cheese if you havent had a chance to yet, great with a sparkler! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humboldt_Fog

QOTD: you should try a Morellino di Scansano called Ghiaccio Forte from Castello Romitorio. It’s only available through an Ohio importer called Belvino. In fact, you might think about doing a Morellino show, given that it’s such a terrific (not to mention underrated) area.

QOTD: I recommend that you do one week’s worth of shows while floating down the Canal du Midi on a barge in the Languedoc region of France. Take your wife; take your brother, but do it (no experience necessary!). You already like these wines, and they’ll taste even better meandering down the Midi with your loved ones. I enjoyed it so much, I even wrote a book about it; check out the 15-page Book Preview: http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/42997

  • How about instead of continuosly swirling the poor wine around as if you were trying to make it sparkling.( everything has a limit) 🙂 .. you showed the angel tears… the arches the conisitency, the colour, giving your choosen wine a little ‘ elegance’ and charm…

I’m interested in reading your book and comparing your points of views..

ps ….are there ever any tannins or any body in your reds?

Linda… carry on with your amusing SHOW

Try the “Dare” from Viader. It’s 1/3 the price and I think 100% Cab Franc.
