QOTD: I recommend coming down to Baltimore (Go Ravens!) on a nice summer day, get an amazing crab cake, and enjoy some vino.

  • Dano

Interesting take on what goes with “Mott-za”. The Hoople? Never mind.
Still waiting to here your take on some Morgons.

Love the WA state wines. The fruit there is certainly special.

I’m gonna break down your QOTD int two parts.

    1. Good health and happiness for you, your family, and all of your vaniac friends.

    2. Petit Corbu. My gal and I had the 2005 Les Jardins de Bouscassa – Alain d’Brumont last night and it blew us away. Rarely do we agree on wines that much, but this one was a definite from the get-go. It’s many hours after we put this down and I can still taste it. Very fun varietal.

Thanks for everything, GV. Good luck at the draft…I’m sure your Jets will come out better than my Bears. We suck like that.

I think The Prisoner by Orin Swift is amazing. Get ‘er done!!!!

Just got on the mailing list for Pomum.. can’t wait to get some updates for good ol’ Boston area access.

  • DJB

Gary, I recommend doing a once a week show on ESPN. That would be the coolest if you commentated on the Jets, and other teams as well. Better yet, what if you were drinking wine while hosting the show on ESPN. You could pair wine with different sports and sports occasions.

    You and the Mottster rock.

Hi Gary. My recommendation to you would be to come to Texas and visit some of the wineries and taste some Texas wine. I would put Becker’s Cab Sav Reserve up against a good Calif Cab any day. Dry Comal Creek makes an outstanding Hungarian style Red and their Black Spanish is so unusual and quite good too. They serve “shots” of their white wine with jalapeno peppers. Lone Oak Winery makes some excellent Rhone style reds. Llano Estacado’s Vivano is very good. The buzz is that Viognier will be the “signature wine” of Texas. Grape growing is a tough business in Texas. The weather is brutal…late spring freeze, hail, drought, wind, etc. But when the wine is good it is very very good. Check it out!!

  • Shawn

You are ridonculous. Can’t wait for the draft though, and hope to see you pointing at your head, screaming like a madman.

Anyway, QUOTD: You’re always harping about the over-the-top Australian wines. But I know that you’ve tried the Mitolo G.A.M., and you gave it a 94. But I really do think you’re missing out on everything else that they make. The Savitar is outstanding. I love these wines, Robert Parker loves these wines, and I am certain that you will too.

Great show, looking forward to the book.

QOTD: Brennan Vineyards in Texas, (Its time you take another look at Texas Wines), their Viognier has won medals and awards, and I really like their Syrah.
Other recommendations would be to keep up the great work, and I really like that beer idea that you had the other day as well.

  • QOTD: I recommend you check out commoncraft.com if you want a GOOD plain english description (short video) of RSS.

Mott.. Link it up! Wait… I can’t say that can I? Let me try it myself.

    RSS in Plain English

Don’t know if you allow such things. Good show. I like the buy and hold recommendations!

QOTD – I would recommend that you find out why WLTV is not on the “Web Downloads” section of TiVo. I watch WLTV daily from the comfort of my bedroom but to get it I need to download through iTunes – bring it through TiVo Desktop to transfer it to my TiVo HD box and watch it on my 42″ HDTV.

Being posted on the Web Dowloads section would make this process a simple one button selection and WLTV will be waiting for me automatically.

If you don’t have a TiVo, this post will make no sense…but is very important nonetheless!

    Thanks Gary!

i have a couple recommendations for everything wine library. i am a relatively new vayniac so when you mentioned the secret wine packs i went out and got them both right away. being a new user i had to go through the whole process i think it would be easier to use paypal and think you might get more people buying wine that haven’t in the past because of the simplicity. also im assuming there are no more of the red wrist bands. i really want one and im sure there are others why not allow the people to buy what they want. i am a fan of yours on pownce and think you should post there more maybe post your videos as you put them up from garyvaynerchuk.com, maybe get a qik phone and make some videos as you walk around the store or at a jets game(i don’t want to use twitter i think pownce is better). awhile back you said you would have a link of the day but i don’t seem to see that so maybe get back to that. Lastly and most importantly because i will be doing the secret wine packs and i will be have friends over who have never seen you, you better bring the thunder on may 6th show!!!!!!!!!!!11!one!

  • QOTD: A shoutout to the staff at WL. They have always been helpful and courteous (especially about the cheese).
QOTD2: Feel free to let us know about any other family members who made a difference in your life. I am always amazed to think about my grandparents (all of them) leaving Europe with nothing, coming to America, finding each other and making a life.
About the Jets, as a long time season ticket holder, I’m sure they will do something unexpected, but still mess things up (I can hear the boos already).

QOTD: I’d enjoy seeing some wine makers on your show. Maybe go “on location” a few times.
