QOTD: Never had a pinot gris or grigio, but they sound like good ones to try. I’m big on the thai and chinese food so gris and I could become fast friends.

QOTD: I honestly can’t remember, but I know I must have had one at some point.

Nice show today. Tomorrow, I’m going to Sri Lanka for two weeks…more a tea place than a wine place, but I’ll be n the lookout for some fine Ceylon Vino!

QOTD: I’ve had a few Pinot Gris, but the best was 2004 Luna Vineyards Pinot Grigio… wonderful stuff. I love it in the summer.

GV, love the head to head shows. It’s something my wine drinking friends and I do quite often.

  • Brad -73-

    My favorite pinot grigio
    Bandit 1 liter
    in da box.

The Sutter and Gallo’s I’ve had aren’t worth mentioning
and a pepperwood grove really disappointed me as well.

I absolutely love to grab a ceasar or bacon ranch salad from Mc’ D’s
and a box of the pinot gris form the threethieves/Bandit
and watch an episode of WLTV.

    As I’m doing tonight. 🙂

QOTD- Had Alsace, Oregon, Washington, Best that I remember is ’05 Benton Lane Willamette Valley Pinot Gris.

You were working the palate today! We loved it.

QOTD: I think my favorite Pinot Gris was the J Vineyards 2005, really good.

I like your comments ploy. =) Mixing it up with the t-shirt too. I think it made you calmer.

Great show today! Yes, even you GV. I like the head-to-head action.
Best Pinot Gris I’ve ever had was a 1996 by Sparr. It had an awesome almond/ cheese rind thing going on and great minerality… I should look for some more good PG.

  • QOTD: Well, from Germany i prefer the grauburgunder from markus schneider (Pfalz) and Schlossgut Diel (Nahe). From Italy the Collavini Pinot Grigio Collio (Friuli). From Alsace i also had some good Pinot Gris, but can’t exactly neme them. I think it’s very exiting, that Germany has reached such a high quality-level in grauburgunder and weissburgunder. There is more to find then the better known Riesling…

QOTD 2006 Oregon Kings Ridge Pinot Gris
Great show, a little shorter than usual but I was riveted by the back and forth tasting. Maybe there will have to be a rematch as your palate develops. Looking forward to the book signing at Borders on the 28th in SF.

QOTD: I’ve had lots of pinot gris. Not one stands out, though…more of a porch sipper that I forget about.

QOTD: I have not had a Pinot Grigio in a while but I know I have had many in the past, none that really made a big enough impression that I would remember the specific winery. It is a nice sipping wine just never had one that showed alot of complexity.

  • Living in the heart of Oregon’s wine country, I have had several pinot grisâ??. Believe it or not though, the best I have had was from an amateur winemaker friend who lives nearby. He bottled what he made under the label of â??Fermenting Friendsâ? and his 2006 was outstanding.
