  • QOTD: Yes, I’m on several. Without taking a moment to check to remember them all I know I’m on the Breggo list because of this show (and have some Breggo in the chiller as well).

Great show Gary! I was white water rafting all weekend and didn’t have access to a computer, but I can’t think of a better way to start of my week than last Friday’s episode.

QOTD: I am on an email list at the wine shop (www.sommeliernow.com) that I work at, but not on a mailing list.

Other than Wine Library, I am on the Kermit Lynch newsletter list. I think if I sign up for many more, I will never get any work done.

I’m not on any mailing lists, but perhaps I ought to…that first pinot noir seems like it could be a good one. Not yet “rolling deep” enough for the $85 Cabernet! Someday, though, I surely will.

I might come see you in Rockville! I live in Washington, and though I do not go out there (don’t want to own a car, so I walk, bike and metro everywhere, and Rockville is mean to walkers and bikers), I think I’ll make a special trip. Maybe next time you could make it into the city of Washington, a good wine city!

  • Hi Gary

Nice show – very much one for the US residents (you are an international phenomenon you know), though it is always interesting to here of new good wines. I think the picture on the Pinot was probably an Kite, not an owl as wellâ?¦

QOTD: I’m one a heap of Australian and New Zealand winery mailing lists – they’re basically all free and are more information, discount, based rather than a matter of exclusivity. The one I’m really glad I’m on is Tyrell’s as it gives the option of a whole heap of limited addition fantastic wines at great discounts. Probably the only I rely wish I was on is Rockford in the Barossa as it’s impossible to get, though I’d also like to get on the Mt Mary (Yarra) list.

    Cheers Andrew

Great show! I love the idea of up and coming hot wineries. I’m on quite a few mailing lists and on several waiting lists to get on mailing lists. Lists I’m currently active on are: Bond, Robert Foley vineyards, Peter Michael, Jones Family, Blakiet Estate, Alban vineyards, Levy and McClellan, Ovid, Erna Schein, Quilceda Creek, Amuse Bouche, Aubert, Kosta Browne, School House and Buccella. I’m waiting to be activated on Scarecrow, Sine Qua Non, Colgin and Sloan. Some new wineries people may also want to look into from Napa are Parallel (a Phillipe Melka wine), Blackbird and Carter Cellars.

  • I’m on the WAITING LIST for Sea Smoke. I hope I will get to try more sooner than later. I went to this fantastic 11 course dinner at the Jim German Bar in Waitsburg, WA hosted by chef Mike Easton of Bizarro (in Seattle). The meal was fantastic and Jim and Claire (owners of the venue) simply asked each couple to bring a bottle of wine to share with the guests seated next to you. (What a great way to meet new people.) I was very lucky to sit next to this couple that brought a bottle of the 2004 Sea Smoke Pinot Noir, and I’ll tell you what….I was hooked.
