Just watched this episode on Oklahoma wines, thought I’d give you a heads up on another fantastic Oklahoma wine. Cynthiana from Stone Bluff Cellars is one of the best wines I have ever tasted, and you guessed it, right at $15 a bottle.

  • Despite the name which became awkward, I think the Twin Towers could have been one of the greatest tag teams of all time, but they really shined as two individual guys. Akeem (aka One Man Gang) and the Bog Boss Man could have been one of those great big man tag teams.

But because they weren’t around for long, I would have to go with the Road Warriors or the Dudley Boys. A match between these two at their prime would have been an epic fight.

  • I wonder what the Redlands Community College kids did right… or didn’t do wrong? I’d be fascinated to hear from the winemaker/teacher. Biggest shock or surprise? I guess I was floored when the Pats didn’t win the Super Bowl. 19-1 makes them the number one loser, to use a recent quote from Kobe Bryant.

if it wasn’t for all the ice storms, hail storms, tornadoes, backwards drinking and alcohol distribution laws, and general lack of a knowledgeable wine drinking public, OKlahoma prolly wouldn’t be a bad place to grow wine

oh, and the heat. and humidity. and….i’ll stop.

qotd: the fact that in addition to mid life crisis’s there are mid-mid-life crisis’s. who knew your mid-twenties would be so confusing? i’m either getting dumber or wiser, not sure which….

  • Gary,
This show was great. Very coincidental that i am going to Oklahoma for the 4th of July. I will make it a point to try some different wines when I am up there, especially the Chapel Creek. Keep up the good work, congrats on getting on Revision3!!!

For those of you anywhere near the Oklahoma City area, Sandhill and Chapel Creek are at a wine festival in south OKC at 104th and South Penn Ave, from 12 to 10 today. I just tried the Chapel Creek and it was very smooth start to finish! Great wine!

QOTD: Biggest surprise: we’re moving to Ohio, close to Ashtabula county, where there are a bunch of wineries. Miss Vivian is inching her way closer and closer to the Wine Lib., state by state.

Nice show, still not buying into any Sooner juice in the near future.
    My three favs were:

    The Steiners
    The Heart Foundation, all three
    APA

QOTD: The biggest suprise, finding out that “things”, (ie: wine, nice dinners, and other perks) really don’t make you happy if what you are doing to obtain said items isn’t where your heart is.

QOTD: 1st biggest surprise was to see that WLTV was doing a show on wines from my home state Oklahoma!!!!! 2nd biggest surprise, really thought the biggest damn surprise, THAT AN OKLAHOMA WINE SCORED 90+ POINTS ON WLTV!!!!!!!!!!! Surprised because I have tried many wines from Oklahoma and they are mostly very poor wines. The wine industry here is very much in the infant stage but, with each step making ground! Don’t think we will ever be known as a “wine state”, but would be great someday to know I can pick up a nice bottle of the home state vino and to be proud that it’s a nice wine!
