QOTD: Have actually visited quite a bit in days of yore â?? visited my folks at NATO air base in Marville until M. DeGaulle “invited” our military to leave 8>( Had some marvellous times visiting Loire chateaux and wineries, Champagne country, Alsace etc.

QOTD: Finances and family have kept me from visiting any part of the world outside of the USA for the past 7 years. Plus I’ve been waiting for some kind of contest to win in order to be able to get over to France.

QOTD- Never been to France but have sippy sipped many oustanding wines from there. Too friggin far, 1/2 way around the world for me (Hawaii). The plane ride would kill my arse. Now if I won the contest. . . I gotta make sacrifices ya know. My best French experiences were a ’95 Chateauneuf-du-Pape that I recently had, and a surfer girl from Biarritz that I once knew. Both were difficult to forget.

The fact that both of the Pesquie wines scored 91 yet are priced differently, are made differently, and taste different demonstrates the uselessness of points. Eliminating these differences by boiling a judgment down to a mere number is a disservice to the winemaker, the chateau, wine consumers and the wines themselves.

The best way Wine Library TV can truly change the wine world is to get rid of scores and points once and for all.

Great episode! Love the contest… very tempting.

QOTD: I haven’t been to the Chateau Pesquie in the Ventoux because my cash flow has limited my travels, and the Euro is wamping on the dollar. Would love to get there for the harvest though, what a great contest!
