You know that mott outta find a way to dub in “thunder” sounds when you get excited about a new wine and it starts bringing heat….. I just need some sound effects…. maybe also an OAK Monster creature that comes in and terrorizes your store whenever oak shows up too much and you can go tackle him and kick his %$#@@

I’m working at a wine store and finally have accelerated my tasting per day efforts; so, Gary, I’m comin’ after ya!! sure, your laughing now, but in all seriousness, you need to come to NOLA (new orleans, Louisiana) and drink burgundy with my crew. we put down ch. montrachet like it’s weebie’s crystal or whatev. p’diddy’s on these days and it’s not cause were crazy, it’s just cause we have a passion for the region and know more than most and appreciate people like Allen more than parker…… but anyhoot… This might be the longest drawn out comment ever.. .so , go do your thing.

Don’t know much about Ohio . . . Born in the early 60’s, so what I remember was watching the Ohio St. vs. Michigan battles and the Big Red Machine domination. Johnny Bench was one of my favorite players of the era.

know nothing about Ohio

I was pleasantly surprised to see you reviewing Ohio wines on today’s show. I worked at an Ohio winery called Chalet Debonne
for 6 years through high school and summers home from college. It’s only a few miles away from Harpersfield winery.
I’ve been to Harpersfield winery on several occasions and I’ve always enjoyed their white wines. Though, I wish they would
have sent you the Riesling from there as I think it’s much better (my palate).

Anyway, it was awesome to see my hometown represented on the thunder show!

the fact that ohio is a franchise state gives it a wide diversity of available wines. No price games from the big guys, small artisan producers thrive here, and … U of Michigan is only 45 minutes away!!!

Hey Gary..I was stoked to see you review Kinkead Ridge on the show…because not only is the winery in my hometown Ripley but my mom Judy works for Kinkead Ridge as well…I’m gonna send her this episode…she’ll be so excited.As for my favorite thing about Ohio is the Ruck N Roll Hall of Fame

Being born and raised in Ohio, there are many things I love about Ohio…..A couple that stand out are the Toledo Rockets and the Marblehead Peninsula which has some very nice wineries nearby….

QOTD – The restaurant scene in Cleveland is growing by leaps and bounds. Michael Symon has made a great effort to put us on the map in that respect.

Never tried the wine from souther Ohio, but I do have a few fav’s out east in the Grand River Valley. Whites are more on the mark than the reds – it will be interesting to see that show.

Favorite thing from Ohio would be the only thing I know about Ohio…the Ohio State Buckeyes

Gary – ustream is cool. I typically can’t watch live. Wondering why you don’t place computer in front of you? Can’t imagine the side view is that good.

QOTD: Oberlin College. Because it’s the only thing I know about in Ohio.

By the by, I bet there’s a way you can set up Mott’s camera as the webcam on your computer.

Then you could get a little lcd screen you’d use as a ticker on the bottom of the screen and answer pertinent questions on air. Then you’d get that big screen whatsisname got for campaign coverage on… what was it, msnbc? and have winepedia whishing and wooshing to the appropriate pages behind you… Just a TINY little nudge and look what your show could become!

Seriously though, keep rockin it. At the level you’re doing it now, I don’t mind the head turning, but it would probably be much better for you (and your poor neck!) if you managed to put the camera for the live show more or less at the same angle as Mott’s. You’ve been talking about changing angles for a looooooong time now…

QOTD – well, as a loyal University of Michigan graduate, I would say that there is nothing positive or favorable in the entire state of Ohio. Wines from Michigan are most certainly better. Hail to the Victors – down with the pathetic buckeyes. GO BLUE!
