Awesome show GV and Chad. Gary you should bring him back for a vino episode! QOD – i’m multiculturally demensional, most just won’t get the time of day to find out because they’ve got to get over themselves first!
MOTT what GV was so funny, i don’t think i can think of you in the same way anymore! Gret show, best in a while….in my opinion.

MANGERINE!!!!! Nice one GV. I’m glad to see you flirt with the guys too. I agree you guys needed some anejo for some more sippin’ complexities. QOTD : My employer at the moment is the state through unemployment, and I hope they don’t know that I’m not as enthusiastic about finding a job as it may appear.

Awesome show! You should do tequila shows more often (once a month maybe?).
QOTD: I would have to agree with Roberto, I also get my daily fix of winelibrary and I know for a fact that no one at work knows this, and this is a big part of what makes me, me.

I worked in liquor agencies for about 5 years, and although I was the wine dept. guy, I’d read obsessively about products, the industry, and from every avenue of verifiable info I could find. Reposados, near as I’d earlier found, are likely aged in wood a minimum of 90, or 100 days, most likely.Wikipedia, a unverifiable source, says a min. of 2 months. Your guy believes six to 9 months.(I assure you, any 9 month aged Reposado is on the ridiculous upper end of the price ranges.) Flavor components undergo (expensive) chemical transformations in barrel ageing, and you must account for the quality of the raw materials used, and a plethora of other conditions. I’d be willing to bet that Patron does not spend one more minute in a barrel than legally required, due to cost control measures.. Patron, true, Gary, is marketed as a commodity, and the huge companies that bring us such products are really only interested in one thing, my friends, and it is not quality tequila. It is your money. They put it in an attractive bottle so that every boob that becomes familiar with it can find it easily. (I call this the ‘hypnotized by shiny object’ syndrome). They are right about this, though – Jose Cuervo, up to 50% corn, cane, or beet sugar, is, relatively, rubbish. Sauza Hornitos, or Cazadores reposado are inexpensive and dependable. Herradura is remarkable. Vayniacs, go out and discover some small distillery, quality producers! ole

Love the Tequila show. Thanks. I do prefer Don Julio and Coralejo in the blue bottle.

QOTD: They don’t that I’m in Facebook.

Great show so far. I’m a big Tequila fan and will often order it neat when I find myself in a decent place. I usually shoot for stuff I haven’t tried yet and usually stick to Anejos, but will visit a Reposado from time to time.

So far, my absolute favorite is Gran Centenario Anejo. Highly recommended. Have also enjoyed Herradura and Corazon (both anejos). And as the others mentioned Sauza Hornitos is great for the price as well.

If I’m forced to shoot it, Patron will work (and please don’t chill it), but I don’t equate it for anything much more than that.

Glad to see you STILL “Following ya DNA”!

Building the Vaynerchuk BRAND BRAND BRAND BRAND sure is the Numero Uno secret to big wine sales! I love it all.

    My best as always

QOTD: I was both a Buddhist, and a Socialist and one point (I’ve mellowed a little)

I noticed you guys were comparing the colors, but be aware they can add whatever caramel coloring they want, and cuervo shows that a cheap unaged tequila can have lots of color (it also has grain neutral spirits, but thats another story)

I’m not a fan of tequila, but a good show nonetheless, there should be more geeks of all kinds, tequila included.

I’m a long time lurker finally making the big move to comment-city! It just took a little tequila to get me to do it. I agree with what others are saying… if you’re going to be sippin’ it, go with the anejo (I like Don Julio and Don Fernando). But I don’t mind sipping Resposados if I cut it first with a bit of water first (again, like a scotch)… it opens it up and mellows it out a little so it will go down smoother.

QOTD: I’m fresh out of grad school and looking for a job. Upside: More time for WLTV!!

  • The Lurk Monster

First off, I have a request. After watching all 500 some odd episodes in a little over a month’s time I am finally starting to comment and I feel I must ask this. Gary, I want to see you do a mead show (honey wine). Lets get medieval up in this piece! QOTD: People at my work (College)CKC big ups!, most people do not know that I am really into craft beer, wine, and spirits. As far as Tequila goes, Patron is somewhat of a Santa Margarita IMO, but the Platinum is actually fantastic. My personal favorites are: Don Eduardo (Silver), Cabo Wabo (Resposado), and Cazadores (Anejo).

  • LOVE IT. I’ve had quite a few different tequilas but I still haven’t tried any of the three you just tasted(I know, who hasn’t tried Patron?), but soon…

QOTD: Nobody at work knows about my blog, or that I sing and act in various things… they all think I sit at home and do nothing. HA!

  • Great show Gary, now wanting a Tequilla 🙂

QOTD: So many things my work buddies don’t know about me, but probably, being English and living in Switzerland the one thing off the wall is that I enjoy watching American Baseball. One of my wishes is to go to a game one day in the States, maybe next year after the Thunder Cruise I’ll manage it 🙂

I’m not a huge Tequila fan, but I really do like Cabo Wabo, and I’ve been known to sip a Don Julio from time to time. Great Show!

QOTD: Well, since my Dad and I are the only ones who work in my office, there isn’t much he doesn’t know about me. However, if I were to expand it to all the real estate brokers in my area, or my clients and such, I guess it would be that I love to cook, and I’m pretty damn good at it.

  • Great episode… maybe there is one with Gin coming up? I can recommend the Bombay Sapphire (http://tinyurl.com/yq6gqf).

BTW, I liked The Undertaker in my WWF time.

qotd: My ability to be very passionate about things and therefore relishing them. This is not just wine, but surely the reason for my care for WLTV 😉

You need to try sipping tequila with Sangrita. I had never heard of it but when I was working in Mexico all of the locals would be a beer, shot of tequila and a sangrita with ice. Very nice.

You wanna get serious? Hard to find, yet thunderous tequilas are Asom Broso and Porfidio. Not cheap, though.

Drank Tequilla with the worm, that was many moons ago. TOO HOT!!

QOTD: I know how to juggle. clubs, balls etc.

  • Glad to see the WLTV crowd is into the tequila.

QOTD: Most people at my work don’t know that I performed in a Rocky Horror cast in NJ every Saturday night for several years.
