Never had Egyptian wine but have tried all the best red wines from Tunisia around 10 years ago. I believe they are much better than what you tasted yesterday.

Now we are at it: When will we hear about your Indian trip and see you taste som vino from there for instance from Grover or Sula Vineyards?

Gary, never had an Egyptian wine but can recommend a North African wine I tried recently,a 2005 Syrah from Morocco called Tandem made by Alain Graillot, of Crozes fame. Costs about £8 from The Wine Society in the UK.

Never had one, but it sounds interesting!

I had an Egyptian mead once- it tasted exactly like mead. It was good with the meal we had.

Not wine, but I remember an Egyptian beer that I think was called Stella. Somewhere around 3% alcohol but better than the water while boating down (or up, I guess) the Nile.

I’ve never had any wine from Egypt. I have some wine from Morocco that I actually got from Wine Library. It’s good stuff for the price. Very much in a old world French fashion. Bummer on the schwag – I work from 3 – 11:30 PM..Oh well, next time I guess.. I watch your show after work..

I know I drank some while living in Greece and Turkey, but that was at the age where I more concerned with quantity than quality so sadly I cannot remember any of them.

you have to give it a shot, ya know? why not try egyptian wines… we try wines from lebanon and countries like that.
