Thanks for having Janis on your show. It’s cool to see that someone who is so knowledgable about wine can be so down to earth and more into enjoying wine then expounding on it.

Really enjoyed the show Gary. Learned a lot about Sherry and I love that she likes Ridge wines, one of my favorite producers. Oh, you were well behaved.

To answer Jancis’ question, yes I am very glad she appeared and I thought she and Gary had excellent rapport. I enjoyed their general wine comments as much as their specific remarks on the 3 wines. Personally, members of Jancis’ website (I joined it after seeing this video) who objected to her appearance with Gary likely felt that his overall approach to wine criticism might have been wanting in refinement, elegance, and sophistication. Gary’s zeal and effusiveness is offputting, I think, only to those who feel that wine should be exclusivistic – and wine is ultimately an inclusive foodstuff. Gary wears his knowledge lightly to attract an inclusive audience, which I fully approve.
What was the California wine mentioned briefly at the 26 minute mark that they both felt was underappreciated? Jancis also mentioned Spotwoode (sp?) immediately thereafter.
Many thanks for a most entertaining and thought-provoking show. I hope she appears again.

GV-wonderful job at the interview and it was so nice to hear you two talk back and forth about different wines/vineyards. I hope that you can get more exciting,knowledgeable people to have on the show! The show sure has grown into a evolution – just like wine itself! This has to go down in winelibrarytv history as the best one ever!! 🙂

One afterthought…Gary’s description of the Ridge Geyserville as having Rhone-like character was singularly apropos. Being an enthusiast of those wines and having tasted an earlier vintage, I wholeheartedly agree.

Finally posting a comment after viewing for a while. Great show. True to form, WLTV is improving with age.

Favorite part of guest interviews is always the first three seconds. Love the guest’s reaction to Gary.

Great show Gary. The astringency of Clos Veyderchuk balanced with the class of Chateau Jancis. Marvellous. More special guest please as they are great shows. Please do not get Oz Clarke on though as he annoys the hell out of me!!

Amazing show. That should answer Jancis’ question. She is an awesome listener. Jancis calms you down Gary. Your best job of listening Gary. You two blended your concepts beautifully. The transition in the banter was flawless. We could tell that she respects your knowledge. I will be purchasing her book this weekend. If Jancis wants us to be a customer of her service she must promise to return to your show at least once a year. Where you have Jancis bettered Gary is that it took a financial reason for her to check out the Manzanilla that she had ignored for 20 years. Gary, you are more fascinated with the knowledge and therefore the experience.

It was an awesome idea! I love to see the traditional wine world and the “new wave” BOTH getting out of their box and sharing thoughts and ideas. There are plenty of us who own the Oxford Companion AND watch WLTV.

And Jancis was a very entertaining guest in her own right as well.
