Very interesting. Had the 2004 Laplace at a friend’s shop couple months
ago. That one was tight as well but had it again later on that week (same
bottle) and it got much better. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

QOTD: LAMBRUSCO! The good stuff. The really good strains like Grasparossa.
Very underated and some of the best pizza wines around.

QOTD: Paso Robles wine area in California and look at several area wineries. Jack Creek, 4 Vines, Tablas Creek, Turley, Rabbit Ridge all have a good variety. Choose zins, syrahs and rhone whites, no cabs

QOTD How about putting a Vin Jaune in a laid back friday episode? Now that’s expanding your palate! Try to get a Tissot or Macle.

  • Dude, you were a little off on the score for the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets game. Have more faith in the future, especially if you hope to own the team.

  • hey Gary!

I recently discovered WLTV and I can’t get enough! I’ve been pouring over the archives and soaking up the wine knowledge. Loving the regional highlight episodes like this one.

QOTD: Possibly a biased request, but I grew in the Okanagan Valley in BC, Canada and I would love to see you feature some of the up and coming wines from that region. BC’s wine industry is growing like crazy (from 15 wineries in the 1980’s to over 150 today!) and generating a lot of buzz… possibly thunder? I’ll leave that for you to decide Gary.

    QOTD:
Answer from the other side of the pond

English Wine ? Surely there are some imported into the US. We have some of the world?s best sparkling wine and very interesting whites (Bacchus) and Loire style Pinot Noir.

Biodynamic Wine Making ? Wow do we taste some interesting wines here: eg Chapoutier, Domaine Leroy, Frog’s Leap, Bonny Doon, Mas de Daumas Gassac ??

Limoux in South West France, where sparkling wine all begun

Unusual stickies ?. Banyuls (oh what an extraordinary collection of tastes), Late Harvest Condrieu ? for me the ultimate dessert wine (maybe because I am English and love marmalade), Quady Winerys Black Muscat (yummy candy), then the MUST HAVE Christmas dessert wine Inniskillin Sparkling Ice Wine with it?s tiny bubbles adding a zest ?. and I would have suggested Brachetto d?Acqui ?. But you have already ?done? it!

Chateau Musar ? what a story, making wine in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon while bombs are going off and making wonderful wines at that

Wines of the Northern Rhone ? come on, let?s face it the inspiration for so much Californian ? Cote Rotie, Condrieu, Chateau Grillet, Saint Joseph.

I could go on to say how about doing something on the Tannats from Uruguay, or the wonderful blends of Atlantic (ie Cab Sav / Merlot) and Mediterranean (Syrah / Grenache etc) that is found in the Appellations of Malpere and Carbardes, near the ancient city of Carcassonne ? the inspiration for Walt Disneys Snow White Castle, but I won?t

Great win for your jets. As for ideas for shows, I think you should do a blind tasting of long island wines and a few shows dedicated to port, both tawny and late vintage.

    Hey Gary,

My suggestion is trying a monthly or weekly “weekend getaway” show where you highlight a specific wine region in the US (who can afford a getaway to Europe these days?) and a couple of the best wineries in that area that both casual and “serious” wine drinkers can visit and enjoy. What better way to spend some time with the loved ones than a weekend trip? Plus, it would give you the opportunity to cover all the favorite “little” regions that everyone is suggesting.

    Thanks! Love the show!

    Hi Gary,

My wife and I would love to see you review “Garnacha de Fuego” (Spain). Its by far our favorite everyday wine. And at around 8 bones, its hard to beat when you go through wine like we do. 😀

    Keep up the awesome work!

GV Literally just returned from Paso Robles about 4 hrs ago. I had checked the “library” before I made the trip in hopes of finding some gems to visit. However, I didn’t find that many reviews on Paso wines (maybe 5). I think the quality in Paso has made significant progress since my last trip 3 yrs ago. Let?s see some Rhone Ranging from Paso (maybe Tablas Creek, L?Aventure).

I searched the producer “Larkmead” the other day and didn’t find anything. At $50-60 for their cab, its delivers in more like the $100+ price range. Plus, their LMV Salon cab, at $80 is a joke. It’s so much better than Opus One, Caymus Select, Insignia, etc. Maybe you shouldn’t do a show about Larkmead, so the word will not spread and their prices won’t go up.
