Good guest and show. Shame Canadian wines are so hard to find…especially in the UK

Great show. Living in Vancouver I’ve made it out to the Okanagan but there’s so much more to see. Glad to hear you liked the Tantalus Riesling. That’s one of my favourites. Now if we could only get wines prices down to what I’ve seen across the border.

Enjoyed this episode a lot. Would like to see more Canadian wines in the future.

QOTD: I would like to go to BC but I really doubt it will happen anytime soon.

    Great Show GARY…

It’s been a longtime coming but finally a show on BC Wines. Hopefully, there will be more in the future. I live in Vancouver and love seeing our region have the opportunity to bring the THUNDER… Pricing is certainly one of the elements that BC wines struggle with but it is constant across the board due to liquor laws and taxation. For example your favorite Wine Pinata Yellowtail is $13-18 bones Canadian in BC Liquor Stores. Money aside the quality is there and I look forward to Future explorations on the Thunder Show. Come on Up GV, BC is waiting for you….

Great show, Rhys was a great guest, clearly educated and thoughtful. Love that you did Canadian wines, have tried many Vancouver Island wines, some are very good (Averill Creek, Alderlea, Venturi-Schulz), some are, well.. not so good. Don’t do just US available wines, remember you’ve gone global!

QOTD: BC within the next 2 years, Okanagan? I really hope so but it’s a long way from VI.

Great show! As a B.C. native it warmed me heart to finally see the Okanagan getting some play. If you do go up there you have to try some Sumac Ridge Pinnacle. Lovely stuff.

Wow! From the comments it’s clear you have A LOT of viewers in Canada. Great show, great way to expand geography and palates.

QOTD: I have a dear friend whose family lives in Seattle. Maybe when we go there, we can make a side trip to BC.

A+ Simply because it’s from Canada.

Our Very freindly neighbors to the North.

It must be very tricky trying to make wine in their very cool climate.

I will be in BC this summer . Im a Brit but work as a Tour Manager in the Travel Biz. My favourite wine from the Okanagan to date a 2000 Black Sage vinyard Cab Sauv from Sumac Ridge in Summerland. I had a bottle a few months ago, fantastic but still young.
My other fave Canadian wine a 1998 Cab Sauv from Strewn winery in Ontario. Great stuff. Excellent show as always. It was the Jancis episode that brought the Thunder Show to my notice but wouldnt miss it for anything now.

qotd: I’m not sure, but it’s in the upper tier of my list of places to visit.

I am a little sad that these wines are not available where I live, but it was interesting to see you two evaluate them and to learn a little bit about a wine region that doesn’t get a lot of international attention.
    Thanks.
