Not my favourite guest (a little bit full of himself), but I have to hand it to him, one of the very few guests to actually say what he thinks about the wines. Maybe you need a super ego to have the confidence to say it as you see it. Kudos to him for that but the hat and the dodgy handshake at the end mean he has more minuses than pluses for my palate

  • loved it. Kevin killed it totally. long time fan of Kevin from the TechTV days. Being spring time now, i’m drinking homemade sassafras tea, it’s really healthy for all your body.

side question to Gary, whatever happened to the “whether they like it or not” at the end of the show?

Hey Gary, I really liked the show and Kevin but I really do miss the classic WLTV episodes where it was just you, Mott and the camera. I really think that in the future you should do more traditional episodes.

  • A dumb Rhine king

    hehe “I swallow”

What is up with the censor bullshit?! And why is everyone getting all uppity about the way you guys are talking? Just like wine, you need to expand your people palate outside of your current clique.

QOTD: Water, out of the filter at work and in a glass bottle that is reusable, I used to be pretty wasteful with the disposable cup stuff.

Great episode… never seen/heard Rose speak before… nice and honest, unlike other guests… 😉

Kevin brought the thunder. I appreciate the unabashed honesty. Too many guests have fear in their eyes. It?s not about agreeing it?s about trying something new. Great Show!!

Really great show today! I’ve never tried Sauternes but I think I’ll have to soon.

QOTD: Coffee. Every morning, and after a good dinner.

  • Awesome! That was fun. And now I have a total crush on Kevin Rose. You’re much cuter than your Twitter picture.
The two of you have great synergy. Would love to see a JV in some area in the future?

    Hey Gary
Great show with amazing energy! Kevin is great and totally understand the comment on Benzinger and their plentiful pours! As far as what I am drinking, gotta say I am hooked on the Tiger Woods quiet storm (purple) Gatorade. I don’t know, it a one a day habit lately.

Great show GV. Kevin was an awesome guest, very honest and obviously comfortable in front of the masses. Nice variety in wine selection as well, I like it when you mix things up.

QOTD: Fresh brewed Chinese white tea.

  • Gary, I really enjoy when you have a guest that can be as over-the-top as you. When you speak, and a guest clams up, it’s hard to grab onto what they are saying. That’s not to say previous guests were bad, but sometimes they don’t have enough presence on screen to match your delivery.

Either way, good episode. Truly enjoyed it.

I dig (no pun intended… Honestly)the shows with guests for the most part… they tend to be much more personal when the guests are open and comfortable at least. I think that having someone like Kevin on during a secret pack would be phenomenal because it would cut the edge of Gary’s strong opinions against someone who is more of a novice and give it a real living-room feel. You can be like shit my palate is whack but wait!!!! this dude tastes the same shit i do … what up my palate is less whack… nice.
I also am slightly upset about the BLEEEEEEEPs but no big deal I can infer. I will call this the Wine library Mad Libs era.
QOTD: Evolution white peach hot tea pick it up My NERDS! (Hot tea always reminds me of being sick though. Too much sweet iced tea growin’ up … insert cliche banjo music here…………..

Love the guest! A real “Dude”. Love all the experts from other shows but cool to have someone just to have fun but also to have fun.

QOTD: Love Gerolsteiner mineral water. Been to Europe several times and mineral water is just a way of life. The main beverage along with wine or beer. Really got me hooked but not common here at all except for plain bottled water.

What a great nightcap! Just had a soothing aromatherapy bath to help the aching back. Before I hit my pillow I decided to see what Gary was up to. Nice guest. Nice wine choices. The Sauternes brought back fine memories. I digg. Comments were equally entertaining. Oh, yes, Kombucha white tea and ginger. Chai, too. Night night.

Personally, I’m bored with the web 2.0 guests. I’ve preferred the guests that have a wine background….crazy, right?
