So, its “Heat” Now, and not “Thunder” ?? Go back to “Thunder” when describing the awesomeness of a wine Gary.
-I would love to hear more about your wine experiences outside of the show. Caught the Petit Syrah over twitter and you put that place on my radar. Need more info about more wines, always.
-Bacon+Wine – I would LOVE to see that show gary. Bacon+wine, FTW!
-Awesome Movie with a bit of snooze… Probably “The Green Mile” or “Jeremiah Johnson” both are excellent movies with a few minutes of boredom mixed in their middles.
QOTD: “Legit” I think of white, teenage, hip-hop and rap artists from the 80s and early 90s. Legit is not back in the American Vocabulary, no matter how much you want it to be. Stick with improving the American wine culture, Gary. Leave English to the professors, essayists, and poets.

QOTD: Definitely flabby. Keeping it loose is always the way to go.

As for legit, I now think of you. Own that word!

Too legit to quit. MC Hammer and parachute pants. I am a big fan of Brunelos and these two are usually in my purchasing every year that is good. I have heard nothing but good about 2004 in Tuscany and am looking to add them to the cellar. Tried to get through Vicky, Christina, Barcelona last night and it had several sleep inducing lags in it.

Semi-QOTD: Talking about wines you enjoy outside the Thunder Show is not only on topic, it’s on mission! It’s all about trusting our own palates and trying new things and you demonstrate that every day both on and off camera.

Rushmore. Great movie. Loses its focus a little in the 6th inning but comes back strong.

Soon as I return to Italy I’ll have to try those Brunellos. Unfortunately, the price here in the U.S. is prohibitive.

I had an Italian friend tell me that there is no way that Tuscany and vicinity can supply the worldwide demand for its wines, so most of them for export are widely blended with Sicilian and other bulk juice. He said you know a real Tuscan wine by the Gallo Nero stamp. Was he full of it?

QOTD: Legit, being a slang, shortened form of legitimate from the Latin “legitimus”, meaning lawful, is usually used as a synonym of acceptable (Collins Gage Canadian Paperback dictionary). I think “legit” is a legit term 😉

I personally like the informality, the small talk. It’s nice to hear what you have been enjoying on a non-professional level.

A bacon pairing show would be sooooo cool! I’ve enjoyed white pairings (Domaine Causse Marines Les Greilles Gaillac 2006 )with ham and cheeze frittatas.

I’ve had a 2006 Argiano Rosso di Montalcino. They are out already here in Québec. Very bold and rustic. Great “traditional” flavor profiles: Dark cherry with the pit, cigar box, cinnamon stick, etc. Heavy deposit in the bottle which means DECANT!
