These improv, flipcam episodes are fantastic – anyone who says they are sloppy needs their head examined. Also the Jets hoodie is phenomenal – I’ll have to get one.

    Gary,
I know you’re a busy man…how about hitting the hotel bar for a 3-bottle tasting next time? The majority of us crack a bottle in the bar downstairs as opposed to our hotel room. Screw half-bottle room prices.

Interesting bottles nonetheless, great episode! Cold pinot noir sounds like a nightmare to me.

    QOTD – TENN BBQ!

Your poor camera! Nailed by the cork two days in a row! But very funny end of the episode – ‘cool’. 😀 Fun show and two good wines, in a hotel, no less! Can’t beat that.

Good episode Gary. Every viewer matters but don’t forget that there are TONS of people who love the flip-cam episodes as well. When you say Nashville….I think of the Peabody Ducks…even though they are in Memphis, can’t help myself. Loved those waddling creatures walking through the hotel.

Okay, I’m a little sad that you boo’d our Titans. Warm up to them a little.

Love, love, love your show. Anytime, anywhere, any camera.

(try to read all this with a southern drawl. okay, okay, I’m not from here and don’t have much of a drawl myself)

don’t listen to the guy complaining about the shows being sloppy. the impromptu nature of wltv is part of what keeps it interesting. there are so many other over-edited wine videos online that make me snore. keep bringing the gv-style thunder.

Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir – La Barge is one of my very favorite American Pinots. They never taste good cold, but neither do any other Pinots. They also improve immensely with 8+ years of age, typically becoming almost indistinguishable from Premier Cru Burgundy.

Hess Select Chardonnay: This is a very good “Value” level Chardonnay. Consistently good. Contrary to the ABC Pinot, it tastes better younger than older.

The above tends to explain why the Hess got a higher score today and in this environment, than the ABC.

QOTD: I could care less about the format/scenario. The only thing I care about is whether or not you are tasting good wines.

Has anyone ever seen Gary score a wine 95+?

I saw an episode that he was tasting an Pommardian Pinot Noir and scored it 93+ but never anything more than that.

    Gary let me know!!!

    Or anyone else…

Cool show though, I do like the flip cam, even though it cut off the top of your head a little bit. Keep it up!

still love the show – keep up the good work!

    Thanks for another hotel episode.

  • Gary, love the show, love that you’re in Nashvegas, and love that you booed the Titans because I hate them too. Talk bad about my Preds though and we’ll have to throw down.

QOTD: I think of the Belcourt, the best art-house/indie/community theater in Nashville and probably the southeast. Good movies(on actual FILM), good beer/vino, old theatre, nice people, what more could you ask for?

Check it out if you get a chance while you’re in town.

  • You say Nashville, I say pop-country, I say kick it in the balls!
Anyway, I don’t have a problem with these impromtu flip-cam shows, quite like em actually. Plus they’re usually compact, which is greatly appreciated since I’m working on my 4 hour working week ‘play’…
Work on your French pronunciation a little maybe, c’mon l’ete, summer, ‘lay-tay’…just kiddin you hear.
    Greetings from the Netherlands, Paul

  • How fitting that you wore your JETS hoodie and one of the wines was HESS. Coincidence? I don’t think so! These recent videos have been real and raw, “life in the trenches baby!”

    QOTD: Unoriginal, name stealing Titans!

    Gary,

Keep up the energy. I’m amazed some people come down on you for an improved episode. They must think it is easy as cake to do what you do five days a week. We appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to give us the tatse. Thanks again.

Great improv. I love what you’re doing with the flip…it’s better than nothing at all.

For what it’s worth, I like these episodes. Just stayed at that Hutton last weekend for the Dave Matthews concert. Nice place, good people.
NashVegas is the most under rated city in the US. Great music and pretty good food. And not just country music, there is music for everyone…Enjoy.

    QOTD: Barbeque Joint

On an unrelated note, there have been episodes of Verdejo wines, but it seems there aren’t any episodes on Verdelho (correct me if i’m wrong, i believe they’re different). Would love to see an episode of Verdelho wines.

    QOTD: Elvis.
To support Sonic Paul’s pronunciation hint, it must be L’été du Vin: the summer of wine.
    Very educational minibar session.

welcome to Nashville – enjoyed the tasting, meeting you, and watching your show tonight when we got home. Stop by The Wine Chap in Belle Meade if you get a chance this weekend. you have some Southern fans now and let’s face it that old chardonnay tonight was not that great ( not the Hess but at the tasting )
not sure who Brock means but Ray Stevens is from Nashville and wrote The Streak
    go Titans
    BK

  • I say Kevin Nash.. hey good episode love the hotel footage.. keep it up!

QOTD: I say Grand Ole Opry.

Love the flip-cam episodes. Appreciate the effort you make to pump out a show. Enjoy traveling with you. It’s not only a wine review but also a review in hotel accomodations. Also the informality is great, unshaven in your gear makes you even more likeable.
