Gary Vaynerchuk is in Nashville Tennessee for the L’Ete Du Vin wine auction and while he is there he is taping some shows, todays is his review of the wines in the mini bar of his hotel – The Hutton

Wines tasted in this episode:

These improv, flipcam episodes are fantastic – anyone who says they are sloppy needs their head examined. Also the Jets hoodie is phenomenal – I’ll have to get one.

  • Gary I think the flip cam episodes are great. I enjoy watching them as “filler episodes” while you are on the run. Thanks for taking the time to do them!

QOTD: Home. BTW, while you’re here, try to visit the Station Inn for authentic bluegrass instead of that touristy stuff they play on Second Street.

Great comments last night at the Vintner’s Tasting. Would love to see you do a show with one or more of the guests from the panel. Laurent Sarazin said that he’d love to be on the show. His Brut Rose was very good, and probably not a type of wine that a lot of people associate with quality. (If you’re old enough you probably see pink bubbly stuff and think “Cold Duck.”) Heidi had two great wines from La Sirena that were both very different. Would love to see you do a show with both her and Bo.

Thanks for coming out to l’Ete du Vin; it’s a great cause. I think you won over a lot of new Vayniacs. And I can’t wait to see you use the new spit bucket on the next show!

  • Love the flip cam episodes! I’ve always wondered about wines in hotels, planes, wine bars, etc. It’s great to see you evaluate them.

    QOTD- Blackhorse Saloon… Opryland… Tootsies

I like the flip cam episodes. They’re not my preference, but I know you’re busy and I appreciate that you keep the episodes coming.

The more I see these hotel episodes, the more I think I’ll steer clear of the minibar. Just too hot on the walet for a CKC. But I do think it’s exciting that hotels are starting to come around and have better wines.

QoTD: country music (which I hate!)

  • Lia from Ashland

I really like the flip cam episodes because they bring wine-tasting to everyday environments that we are all familiar with. Keep it up!

Wow, did your hotel triple the retail price on that Hess? Intense!

Love the flip cam and the off the cuff atmosphere. Thanks for churning out episodes.

Thanks for keeping in touch on the road.
Sad to see the level of highway robbery by hotel minibars
but I know enough to keep them shut.

i’m gonna have to agree w/ steak monster. the more hotel shows i see the less i want to be a follower of the thunder show. i know gary is busy and getting busier all the time. this just reiterates the fact that the word is spreading. the show is becoming an afterthought, in my opinion, and more of a “fly by the seat of my pants” ordeal. i’m really missing the value that was brought to us on a daily bases back at thee ol’ wine shop.

  • Been following the shows through thre various incarnations and I’m always excited to see where you go next, I say go with it, we’re just along for the ride.

QOTD: You say Nashville, I always think of U2’s movie Rattle and Hum where they went to honor the legends of country and Elvis and the whole thing down there.

Thanks for the 667 shows Gary! I so much appreciate you taking the time and spending 60 bucks on some 1/2 bottles that otherwise you could have gotten wholesale. it really means alot that we all can have this community. there is nothing sloppy about it when it comes from the heart. sorry to get mushy, but some people are just ungrateful.

QOTD: Country Music in general and the Grand Ol’ Oprey in particular.

Good episode but there is more than a grain of truth in the “sloppiness” comment – and I’m not talking about these FLIPin road episodes.

What I enjoyed in particular was this episode’s length: ~15 min. – even with reading of comments. Ideal length IMHO.

Cool episode GV, I’m going to seek out that Hess Chard and see what it does for me.

  • Sloppy my ass! You?re doin? it baby. Keep kickin out the thunder, and it?s cool to see changing content. Just an idea for a guestpisode, you should sit down with the guy who started Toms Shoes, Blake Mycoskie. Seems like a comparably big badass as Gary V.

Those people are nuts! The flip-cam episodes would lose all of their charm if they weren’t kinda sloppy. I think its hilarious when you go find a spit bucket or poke around for the ‘fridge key.

I live in Oklahoma (obviously) and we’re discriminated against (i.e. I can’t order wine from the Wine Library). Would you mind doing a show on quality easy-to-find wine?

QOTD: You say Nashville, I say Tennessee…lol.
