Interesting show about a region that I am completely unfamiliar with. I will have to try some Alentejo soon.

QOTD: I don’t think you need the mic when in the office but whenever you are on location, you definitely need to use the mic.

Portugese wines are like non existence in Malaysia but maybe I wasn’t looking hard enough. Gary a request, can you try Vida Nova? A pal of mine is a great fan of Cliff and I’m trying to get him to WLTV and maybe by tasting Vida Nova might just do the trick…

No to the mike, you sound great without it. Use it when you are on the road as the sound is generally poor then

Gary, PLEASE never do another Alentejo special. This wine region is one of the best kept secrets in the wine world and let’s keep it that way, lest prices triple. From there I suggest you try these two: “Monte do Pintor” and “Vinha do Moura”. (By the way, the “j” in Alentejo is pronounced as in “jonas”, not the Spanish way. Cheers)

hi, being portuguese, i really enjoyed to see this show, i had no idea that the Alentejo wines were so popular outside our country, try the “Cortes de Cima” wine, and all of that winnery, also try one of the cheapest and best wines we have here “EA” gratz on the show and keep finding out more about our regions, cause Alentejo is not the only region that has great wines here 😉

  • portugalol

    Hey Gary!

No love lost but that is the most screwed up pronouciation of Alentejo I've ever heard. Because i can't help being a cool guy, here's a cheat to say the name of this Portuguese region like a native would!

    a[cacia]
    len[s]
    te[rrorist]
    ju[venile]

Now, Minho and Dao are two words that have sounds specific to Portuguese and not found in English so I will forgive your inaccuracies in both but I know you can say Douro!

    Do[me]
    Ru[ral]

Not Duero like those idiots in Spain use to say! (jk love Spain and Spanish peeps)

KUTG and get some more Portuguese wine in the show.

  • ricardo

Hi, great show, i really enjoyed to see this show.Portuguese, and specially, Alentejo wines rocks! You have to try “Dona Maria”, “Guadelim” from Herdade do Pico and “Madrugada” from Viniale. In the white ones you have to try “Fargela Antão Vaz” and “Amantis”. Cheers
