QotD: It seems … the things I love the most 🙁

My husband and I had the pleasure of going to a Shafer dinner at a restaurant in Austin, TX. Doug Shafer was there and was so gracious and entertaining. I really liked their merlot. No Hillside was poured 🙂

Great show. You have gotten me way more onto wine. I can’t wait for the book, I have ideas I want to crush with.

QOTD: I’m not sure if I actually take it for ‘granted’ but I should stop and reflect a little bit more about how lucky I am. I’m definitely thankful, but I’ve found myself complaining about some really trivial things before, and then I stop and remember how fortunate I am and how little some people have.

GV- you made another comment about grilling today (last night)… my recommendation stands- invite Booby Flay on as a guest to do some tasting and pairing with grilled food. You two would absolutely kill it… outdoor show too!

I am a long time lurker. Great show and have been a fan since the 200’s. My wife and I love to take a long time for the sniffy sniff and describing all the aromas, thanks to you.

GV, Yup, those cats at Shafer really know their craft. The elegant tasting experience at the winery is not to be missed. Have you tried their chard? It’s a great non-oaked, non-maloed version with wonderful, crisp, pure fruit. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Holy crap balls GV, how big is your balcony?? That is serious. Big fan of the Manhattan skyline as your background. I like the home shows, you seem much more relaxed. And I’ve said it before, but I like the short one wine format.

QOTD: I take for granted the fact that my friends cut me such slack for being piss-poor at calling them. I hate talking on the phone, so I will go for long periods of time without calling people back. I have amazing friends who put up with me, and I for sure take that for granted. I make a point of telling them “I love you no less, I just won’t call you right back!”

When you’re ill or injured, one becomes very grateful: grateful for your family and friends who’ll stick with you when you’re ill or injured; grateful for our medical system and all those who work with it and in it; grateful for breath, the ability to walk, the ability to wipe your own ass, etc.

Nice show, have been eye those bottles for a while and might have to pop one sort of soon.

QOTD: Time and my current job/status, doing well for myself, but yet can never put my whole effort into it, my heart just never seems to be there, sad state.

Hopefully it’s not my job because a lot of people are losing theirs. Nice show GV. On the nerd play thing, I would like to see a couple more wine cellar shows, like you did in the past. They were very educational and fun. Cheers Joel
