Solid episode in which GV asks Mott for his opinion, and then tells him what he really meant to say. Classic.

Fun show (though the wines weren’t all that great).

As any new region to producing wine, finding what you are good at is key.

QOTD: Chicken is a meat that can be prpared in so many ways. I like it roasted in the winter and marinated and cooled for salades in the summer (Mmmm, lemon and herb, mandarin and spinach salade with bacon).

    Keep it up!

    Mr. V!

Great show; love the whole idea of exploring new wine regions. Two years ago you were screaming Argentina and look; Argentina Chard takes the gold in your blind tasting. A true “Judgment of Vaynerchuk”, changed the wine world forever.

QOD: in large quantities, smothered in hot sauce, during wing night at one of Calgary?s many fine establishments.

Comment on comments read on show #703 from the guy who said you were drunk on passion:
Stay true to yourself, be what you are! Don’t change unless you really want to. I love your show the way it is, “warts and all”.

So that Pillsbury Roan is an upside down GSM type. Though I’m as flexible as adventurous, I’d go Rhone. Je voudrais un vin Francais. But my French… not so good.

Yay Callaghan! I’m w/ ya all the way on this one. I too, discovered them in 2000, while in retail, and their worth and effort was evident then, but by now, I’m many years beyond interest/ tolerance for zin/fruit intensity. But their price and quality level, in my mind, is perfect for a party where you can share freely, yet casually, and know that the good lookin’, classy gal, who , unfortunately suffices with Plonk Brand “Y”, will be pleasantly impresed. Everyone wins.

  • Good show as usual. Can’t say I’ll be trying AZ wines anytime soon though, too many great things on the list ahead of them and it seems these were just par for the course.

QOTD: My favorite way to consume chicken is orally. As in eating it! 🙂 But I like it prepared just about every way… spicy wings, panko breaded breast with a little prosciutto inside, or even a grilled chicken panini w/ kalamata tapenade and gouda. Arrgh, now I’m hungry.

    Keep up the good work.

Be to the AVA Soniata/Elgin and tasted at Callahan’s but I really loved the winery next door, Canelo Hills.
You all should check them if you are in the area,

    QOTD:
Like my Chicken grilled and rolled up an Arizona Burrito,
With a bottle of Callahan z5.

QOTD: Cut out the backbone, flatten her out, marinate in whatever, grill. Simple and delicious. Coq au vin made with white wine is also nice.

Well, good for you Arizona. You held your own.
Gary, I like very much the “States” reviews. I know that some have been clunkers in the past, but for me, that’s ok, as I still enjoy the trip.
QOTD- My favorite way to enjoy chicken, is to eat it. How else?

  • JasonA

I agree with the statement about wineries just getting into the game maybe charging too much. Several TN wineries that have decent wine, I think the price point scares some away.

QOTD: Chicken breast marinted in zesty itallian seasoning, and then grilled. Served on top of rice. Love it!!

Great Show love to see new areas for wine explored further. It really excited me how the wine industry is continuing to grow in the US and around the world.

Great show, AGAIN! You are a force.

Chicken – I’ve tried it almost any way it can be cooked. My favorite is BBQ’d over charcoal with indirect heat and then topped with steaming hot Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce, with roasted corn on the cob and (of course) potato salad. And, although I am a huge red wine drinker – it needs a hefty white.

Love the show. Love the energy. Love the thunder!

  • Actually a pretty damn good show since I have close friends in AZ who tout their wines all the time! I must admit, the last one looked promising and I’ll have to try and find a few bottles.

QOTD: I like Sir Lawrence’s (Jacque Pepin’s) version above though I have done that with Cornish hens and a brick! Divine but since I need to come up with a chicken recipe, I place a hunk of Boursin cheese in the cavity and tarragon herbs, garlic, butter and more Boursin under the skin and roast it on the grille. Absolutely orgasmic and match it with an Australian Dead Arm Shiraz or an Oregon Amalie Robert Pinot. Yum

    Cheers!

GV lookin like Joe Pesci at the end there with the wave. 🙂

QOTD: Baked chicken breast meat with some seasoning and sea salt. Just a healthy dose of protein, but probably a bit boring to most.
