The sound recording was a bit dodgy in this episode but since GV unearthed a monster wine we’ll let him off!

  • Can’t answer the QOTD because I’m still too shook by the Hardaway-esque crossover. And I have to go find that second wine.

Sweet, it’s been a long time since the show batted 1.000 and it’s nice to see France killing it with two under $25 wines. Haven’t tried anything from Languedoc, but I’ll definitely have to get some.

Music – all Radiohead most of the time – New and old (the Bends to In Rainbows) When not Radiohead some combo of Wilco, Andrew Bird, The Clash Pavement etc… (the high integrity and Artisctic bands) ,
TV Shows – Entourage, South Park, Top Chef, Dexter – only shows that I watch that arent Sports related.
Movies – Can watch Swingers 100 times… same with Zoolander, Band of Brothers series, Usual Suspects,Strange Brew, Slap Shot…

Not much else to do here in Hunterdon County

All things NY Rangers, Giants, Mets (unfortunatly)

    – Chateau Cazeneuve, Les Calcaire 2005 http://tr.im/tK54
    – Chateau Puech-Haut 2005 http://tr.im/tK5u

As for music, besides the usual..lately picked up a bit again on some ‘classics’ like Massive attack and Sinnead O’connor.
As for tv shows.. well I just watched the 9 episode drama version of that japanese wine manga, wasnt all that bad actually!
Other than that a good nature or science documentary always is interesting..and at times a silly movie where you dont have to use your brains can have its charms as well. 😉

oh ye and had a wine for domaine l’hortus some months ago.. different cuvée though, and 2004, but while definately not bad, I was actually a bit underwhelmed.. had expected more perhaps. Will check if I can find this one.

  • QOTD: Movies: one of my all time favorites is “Chinatown.” This year I think I enjoyed “Coraline” so far, but I will say I haven’t seen a lot this year yet. Music, that varies so so much. Had some Johnny Cash and Paul Simon on today, also digging new Tori Amos and Amanda Palmer.

Gary, thanks for continually trying to expand our palates!

I had the 2007 Puech-Haut Le Loup Du Pic from the June GV Club C. I liked it a lot, but I don’t think it would appeal to the majority of palates.

Movies (All time), Lion in Winter, Spartacus, Schindler’s List.

Nice show Gary, added the Domaine De L’hortus to my cart for my next WL order.

QOTD: The other day I downloaded “the essential Simon and Garfunkel” from Itunes, cause I was looking through youtubes and listening to a bunch of music on a slow day…and started to remember how much I loved their music.

part deux: Movies? To me the mark of a really good movie, is something that we’ll put on, just because there isn’t anything on TV and we feel like relaxing on the couch and watching something together no matter how many times we’ve watched it before. A couple of those that you can always watch? Well Serenity on the nerd side…I so love that movie. Forest Gump on the all around awesome movie angle…and any of the Fellowship of the Ring movies when we just want to snuggle on the couch and play scrabble on the computer all night. Keep it real brother!

Good episode and will try to find the Domaine D’hortus although it is probably not around here in Texas so much.

QOTD – Pretty diverse music taste, not a lot of TV or movies.
