Hey Gary, been watching for over a year now and decided that I really needed to respond to the QOTD. Sorry for not leaving a comment some time ago, but you know how busy you can get when you’re crushing it everyday. And school’s a pain in the ass too.

QOTD: Working for a college radio station, I hear just about every kind of music you can think of. And being the Music Director for said station just adds to the amount of music to sift through. Rarely do I get to enjoy an album just beyond a single play through it before I have to move on the the rest of that week’s stack of cd’s. However, my love for music doesn’t mean I get sick of it. I found myself enjoying some honey wine (mead?) while listening to Street Sweeper Social Club and The English Beat yesterday. Typically my tastes range from Ska to Metal. I pride myself on my eclectic tastes. And on tv right now I’ve been enjoying Hung and I just saw the movie Scratch a little while ago.

Hi Gary, just wanted to touch base. great show. Can I send you a few wines that my friends and I are drinking over here in england ? It would be interesting to see from a reference point of view where your palate is to these wines.( its not that easy to get hold of the wines you review ). Future guests ideas for you, robert parker, j miller, other wine critics. Keep up the good work ! Hic !

QOTD: One or two top favs would not even begin to scratch the surface for everything except TV, I’ll try to keep it short though.

TV – Don’t watch the TV. On the internet I watch WLTV, The Daily Show, ATHF, and Family Guy.
Movies – Seven, Lion King, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sweeney Todd, Underworld, and there are plenty more.
Music – Led Zeppelin, Tool, Puscifer, Ashes Divide, Coheed & Cambria, Evanescence, John Starkey Band, Beck, Black Eyed Peas, Classical MN radio, etc.
Care about – My wife, grapes, wine, sk8ing, local agriculture, MN, and again there is much more ..

Finally the thunder show talks about a little MUSIC!

Music: If you want some music to bring THUNDER to your world check out Umphrey’s McGee. They are the musical equivalent of a 95+ point wine. Yeah, they’re that good.

Movies: SO many, but Fight Club, Super Troopers, and Fletch come to mind as all time favorites.

TV: LOST, and of course Wine Library TV.

Spend all my free time listening to podcasts (stuff you should know, 60 second science, nutrition diva, stardate, moth podcast, writer’s almanac, news). Stitcher is a great free program that combines all these into one personalized radio station.

Plus about 40 knitting podcasts. There’s knitting and steampunk, there’s knitting and dogs, there’s knitting and a mini psychology lesson. So far no one has come up with a knitting and wine podcast. That’s funny considering how much knitters love to drink and knit. It makes for really interesting garments.
