I have been preaching Chenin Blanc for a while now and how under rated they are. Coriole Wines McLaren Vale, Australia have been growing this varietal since the late 70’s. Of late they have been going for the ‘sec’ angle (dry) to maybe take a piece of the Riesling market.

Thanks, G. The last Vouvray I enjoyed was the Francois Chidane (sp) and it was pretty nice. I remember liking it, but being a little underwhelmed having bought it on points…it was a 93 WS I believe.

QOTD: Bears and Cubbies. Sadly, I’m throwing in the towel for the Cubs this season. The brass didn’t do what they had to do to stay competitive down the stretch, so because they gave up, I’m doing the same. Alas, it is now time to see what Cutler can bring. If he can make it with this offensive offense….he will have earned his big press props. Can’t wait to see.

Vouvray is underrated, as is the Chenin Blanc grape variety in general. Some great stuff coming out of South African Chenin Blanc. Unfortunately, South Africa continues to uproot the Chenin for the more trendy varietals like Sauv Blanc

at the risk of sounding like a kiss ass– when I was 7 years old– my dad took me to Shea for the first time and I saw Joe Namath beat the then Boston Patriots. The next year, our first with season tix, I watched that team go 11-3, and beat the Colts for the biggest upset in sports history (sadly, I will say that the US Hockey Team beating the Soviets has eclipsed that Super Bowl as the biggest upset in sports history). I actually went to the Oakland Championship game. So for me, the J–E–T–S are by far, my favorite team. Also. I still have the season tix, some 42 years later, and until about 6 years ago, sat next to the same people who watched me grow up and now see me bring my kids to the games.

Mellow into, Wild intro, it don’t matter it was still a great show.

QOTD: I don’t really follow sports, but I will say The Jets because when I was a kid they were my cousins favorite team, and whenever you mention them, I think of him.

I heart Chenin Blanc! So many great things can be done with it. Awesome show!
