Ah Yes! Hermitage…Knocks the sox of the rest…I agree. Hope the guy on the sidewalk that you spat on isn?t a WLTV fan.
QOTD: When it is 95 degrees I am usually on holidays in the south of France hunting wine when the rest of the family are at the beach.

91+ and $130 bones. Doesn’t that qualify as a PAZZZZ? That’s a lot of scratch to drop on a wine. I want to really be impressed for that price. And heck, you watered the plants with the stuff….

QOTD: At 95 degrees, I get my A/C fixed. Literally. That’s what I did today. If the A/C works, I’m either inside or at the pool. I’m a northerner. 95 is just too hot, especially when it is stupid humid like this.

I appreciate your respect for the Guigal estate.

Quote of the Day from 1984: “Only God can make a tree, but Ettiene Guigal makes Cote-Rotie!!” lol

QotD: Above 90 I stay inside and work until it cools down, but then I am 53 now.

Personally, I would opt to open something crisp and probably white… although I must admit, I was at a friend’s place in Portland, OR during the recent horrible heat-wave, and we did a mini vertical of Anwilka; in spite of the climate, still a good time…

  • Bro, you’re at home on the porch- swallow it! 🙂

QOTD: Hiking, surfing, vineyard touring, gelatto munching, playing tennis, playing golf. I guess I do those when it’s 65, 75, 85 degrees, I just enjoy it more when it’s 95. Everyone loves a good tan.

  • I’m with ya about getting peeps of the comfort “name” wines…. It?s part of my life mission.

QOTD: Don’t get many days in the 90’s in Jackson Hole (32 this morning) but you might find me on the golf course or mountain biking in the summer.

Thank you: interesting & good information!

    Like the shave.

Not a CKC, but I teach ’em.

QOTD: If I’m in the city on a 95-degree day & have some free time, I often go to a museum or a library. If I can get out of the city, try to go white-water-rafting.

great job as always, and yes I’m apart of the returning college crew. I’m a Johnson and Wales student and would love for you to visit the denver campus.
That would rock socks, if you would visit and do a tasting for the school.

    GV,

Yes, I’m a CKC at UCD (at the forefront of the wine world). Looks like your having a typical California weather day. Still hoping to see Romanian wine in the mix. Maybe someday.

QOTD: I would run early in the morning (5:30 AM) for an hour. Then I’d go through my day drinking Japanese green tea, come home and have a white wine for lunch, and then a nice cold craft beer for dinner.

Did you spit that into a plant?! Wonder what the heat-fermented wine and spit combo does for container plants….

QOTD: If I’m lucky enough to not be at work, wearing scrubs in a non air-conditioned facility, and after making sure all the animals have water and are in good shape, then it’s time to head to Kingsland Bay State Park (on Champlain) or Bartlett’s Falls.

Well, I live in Southern California. It is always nice here like that. So I guess you could say that I just live life like normal. Some days I go to the beach, other days I stay at the house. I wouldn’t say I am part of the CKC even though I go to school. I am 31 years old so I don’t really feel like a kid anymore. I am in a junior college for this year but next year I will be going to Cal State Fresno, to enroll in the Batchelors of science in enology program that they have going on there.

QOTD: On our 90+ degree days I like to get up early, go for a walk for a couple of hours at 7:00 AM (with friend and dog), do whatever errands I can get done after the walk and go home to the refrigerated air and go to the pool in our complex at about 5:00 then have some wine and something to eat.
