I just realized how much I appreciate Gary. How do these people remember to breathe? The quintessential wine zombies! Sigh!

  • Hey, the #1 mechanic, at my shop, John, watches your show every lunchhour. I sometimes am there too. He calls himself a lurker, & won’t comment, but disagrees with you sometimes. He is unwilling to type out a response, even when I urge him to. But alas it takes all types to make up a world. After watching a number of your episodes, I figure I’m probably as knowledgeble about wine as any non wine drinking joe out there & I might even be able to teach a few wine drinkers a thing or two.
Enjoyed watching these episodes, with the folks sitting around the table. Somehow I missed seeing the list of their names. I told Jill Hanner I was glad to see her on your show. She was nervous but had a good spot to sit & got pretty good camera time.
Anyhow I’ll put in a request as to who I’d like to see as a guest on your show… *Graziella Baratta* (Ms United States 2008). She is a classy lady & speaks very highly of you. So if you could register my request, it’d be nice. Looking forward to more of your shows, which at first I snickered at a little, but I’m starting to understand the *sniffy sniff* & the whole wine experience… albeit vicariously.

What a fun show. Drew best wishes in fighting your fight…and I’d like to “blame Drew’s cancer” for the lack of comments here and Gary making an offer that expired before the show was posted…

GV — You were hilarious in this episode. I almost spit my wine all over the place when you started talking about the barnyard smell in that last wine. I don’t even want to know how you added sheep’s ass to your sniffy sniffer.

QOTD: Spending time with my kids, loving the woman of my dreams, and learning and educating myself more and more everyday.

Shira Lazar can spit in MY Jets Bucket anytime
The best thing I’ve done in the last half hour was to stare at Shira in this ep from around 15:57 to 16:16:01 or so. Try it gents, it’ll be the best thing you’ve done too.
On a more serious note, kudos to Drew for his illness with such great humor.
All the best to him for a full and speedy recovery.

  • No doubt in my mind, the best thing I am doing is helping my friends who have the desire to create their own businesses in doing so. For a handful of reasons I can’t start my own now so I might as well take the time and help build those up around me who I care deeply about.

  • looks like everyone was having so much fun.Curly girl on the right (your left) adorable.
It’s interesting to hear what everyone tastes in a wine. But, do we all have the same
experience? Or can it be that we can taste different things? Great show.

Fun show again, I was laughing when the lady on the end of the table got wine up her nose at the sniffy-sniff! ( Aww, c’mon now, we all have do e or gotten close to doing it at some point, and got laughed at for it!!!)
Best wishes and much love to Drew!
QOTD: hmm I think maybe the best thing I’m doing is being there for my mom. We’ve been through alot and most of it has hit her significantly harder. I just try to be there for her to talk to and give hugs, love and comfort.

Very noble gesture for Drew and his cause. It certainly picked up the mood after the wine showing.

QOTD: I try to pay it forward by volunteering and being a team captian for the AHA. I could and should do more.

  • Uncle Meate

    I luv sheep butt!!!

Very nice charitable gesture GV …… take care Drew!

AotD: Working hard to provide for, and always being there for my wife and children is the “BEST” thing I am doing right now.
Philanthropically speaking, the ‘BEST’ thing I am doing is, after losing my mother to cancer in Feb. 2008, I set up a foundation fund in her name that benefits the Make*A*Wish program here in our hometown. We raise money all year long with golf outtings, basket bingos, raffles, etc. to send local children with terminal diseases on a ‘wish’ of their choice (usually Disney World).

    Meate Owt!

  • Gary, THANK YOU SO MUCH for letting me join the table on this show! It was so much fun (even though the wines were pretty craptastic). Having been a fan of the show for so long, it made my YEAR to be a part of this and hear you give tasting notes like “sheep butt.” I was really impressed with how sincere and personable you are too — it’s definitely not just an act. You rock, and I hope I can help Crush It crush it.

QUOTD: Hard to pin down a “best thing”, but it’s probably through my side business — helping people learn how to write about themselves effectively, and tell their own compelling stories, so that they can show gatekeepers (like business school admissions committees) how awesome they are, and ultimately achieve their dreams.

Best of the NYC episodes in my opinion…too bad the wines sucked. But like you always say Gary…its about the people and the experience, not the wine.
Drew, I firmly believe that beating cancer is %90 attitude, and you obviously are going to kick this cancer right out the door. No chance at all for this cancer. Gary, that was a wonderful gesture with the donations, I hope GV has to pay up a couple million!!;)
QOTD: Growing plants and raising my son.

  • QOTD: Since I hurt my back last week and have been going to acupuncture they told me to take it easy. So I am sitting at my desk, procrastinating all the other work I should be doing and relaxing. I blame Drew’s cancer in my messed up back and I hope my chiropractor appointment helps this afternoon.

Seems like that was a fun week – wish I could have come in for a show, next time!

QOTD – question is confusing a little, but I enjoy spending time with family and friends the most right now!

I was great to see the NYC shows all week long because they were very entertaining.

    Keep crushing it!

  • Mmmmm…Albarino, we like it with the grilled fishes.
Bummer about the Tempranillo, Senor Ordonez is usually so reliable…thanks for the warning.

Drew, keep the spirits up, I know a couple of people who dealt with Hodgekins, kicked its ass, and went on to do great things.

QOTD: making fine wine in the old farmhouse cellar, and working behind the scenes to build a Vermont and Champlain Valley wine industry.
