I found the guest a bit boring – i’m sure his wines are probably great but this one put me to sleep

You can’t be a Jets AND a Giants fan… That’s like Jimmy Fallon saying he loved the Red Sox AND the Yankees… what a schmo. YOU HATE EACH OTHER BY DEFINITION! Follow me on Twitter Gary: PeteCossette

QOTD – He did very well. And Gary did a good job of letting him tell us about the wines. I enjoy Oregon pinot a lot and hope to return there to do more tasting.

      Great episode.

QOTD: Dick was fantastic. I think I am going to try out some of your wines as a first time taster.

    • Gary: Thanks for having me. It really was unique.
Thanks for helping me spread the word.
Yes I really do love pickles. The spicier the better.
I haven’t had pickles with wine yet though. I’ll report back.

Dead battery? Seriously? You know, they make this fancy, newfangled contraption called an AC adapter. It plugs into the wall. You might want to look into it.

      QOTD: Yes. Excellent episode!

I actually didn’t like the episode too much… not the most articulate or expressive guy in the world. I felt ill at ease listening to him. He was nervous I guess… and the battery thing was off-putting.

btw, on the previous CdP episode the Crush It cruise was not linked up either.

All hell’s breaking loose. Mott, please get back soon.

    • Yeah, I must say that the website for the next year wine cruise is beautifully done. In a way, it is a sort of a tribute to us the ones who went. But boy, did Gary and the cruise staff over-delivered, not only on the grand tasting, but in every aspect of the cruise. The vayniacs are wonderful. Imagine having one great big happy family, and they all go on a cruise, miss not one. That’s how we all got along. I’d say that the instance on the cruise when everyone got real serious was on the Grand Tasting. But the Grand Tasting, and every fancy dinner we enjoyed, with the cruise staff working hard for us, pouring us the hallmark type wine all night, made you feel like royalty, and all of that combined, plus the value of the outstanding wine served (not to mention the quantities) really, really paid your money back, what you invested on this cruise.

    • QOTD: You did good!

I love Oregon PN. I am sad to see them hit astronomical prices. Of coarse, there are those who can afford them which will keep good wineries in business.

nice, calm show, gary. a good break, i suppose, like comedic relief in shakespeare’s trajedies. what would be awesome, if you can get any more awesome than the show already is, would be to get a wine critic on the show! like tanzer or one of the guys who writes for him, or parker or something. that might be interesting…especially if there was horrendous disagreement! oh how fun. you’re the man gary.

QOTD: good, but don’t fiddle with the corks, be more assertive and talk to the audience.

My co-workers and I were tasted on the ’07 estate last May to rave reviews. I would say that I liked the wine the least out of our group — I found it hard to approach and I did not think that many of our clients would “get it.” That said, it received exclusively positive reviews from those who ventured to pay its $120 menu tag and it sold out quickly because of how enthusiastic the staff was.

QOTD: Thanks for coming on the show, I like your honesty and I’ll refer others to this interview.

Boring show. Don’t really like these shows with producers of wine that is not particularly noteworthy or extremely interesting in some way.

If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say it, right? In that case, I will focus on the positive: Gary, you showed some great restraint in this episode – where you haven’t in others. Normally this would be a good thing…

      GV,
Not related to your show (which is always great Gary V) but you owe Mark Sanchez a small apology. I saw you and your Jets buddies at the draft practically having a stroke when they traded for the pick and selected him. Turns out the kid can play and NYJ just beat the Pats at home. He doesn’t deserve all the credit of course, but he looks a TON better then any QB the Jets have had since Broadway Joe. Composure, class and one hell of an arm.

Somehow, you have got to get him on WLTV for a first growth tasting to make it up to him after the season. Would be a classic episode.

I’m sure there is an excitable Dick Shea in there somewhere.
I think Dick Shea I think monotone. Thats not a bad thing.

Gary – When I’m on an episodes page, often I want to go to the following or preceding episode. I really think there should be a ‘next episode’ and ‘previous episode’ button on every episode’s page. I h8 going into the archives each time I want to find a neighboring show.
