Great episode, great guest. Good to see GV chatting with someone on his exact same wavelength and especially when the subject is his favourite category, sparkling wines. Really enjoyable

  • Bubbly, Cava or Champagne, sparkling wines are fun.!
You should definitely do the three day tasting show, I’m sure you’ll gt higher notes on whatever wine you choose to review.
    Great guest, great first part.

Gary, my second comment in two shows! As a young wine lover (22 yr old recent college grad) with a very limited budget (still waiting for that first post-grad job! thanks economy!) I love segments that highlight value, and interesting wines, for money–keep it up. You asked about what your next hot wine region might be. Personally I’d like to know more about wines from places like Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Mexico…What do you think?

Gary – What a pleasant surprise. I’ve subscribed to W&S for some years now and those folks do not seem to get into the limelight so it was a pleasure to see/hear Joshua. What a wealth of knowledge and you and him together seem to hit it off well. From my reading of some wine internet boards, folks have a very favorable impression of W&S. So, in all, it was a real pleasure seeing this episode. I am looking forward for the continuation.

Love Joshua for years and personally very happy to hear you both acknowledge the unfair reverse discrimination a lot of wine geeks have toward Cristal. Years ago, I thought the same was quite true against Dom Perignon . . . I’ve had some great DPs over the years and some were quite old.

Have you seen “da playahs” new luxury Champagne, Ace of Spades??

  • Well, we have a great lineup of wines tonight though I would probably buy a case of the Vinho before one bottle of Cristal just for the “hood” factor.

Part II should be good. Looking forward to it.

    Cheers!

Great episode. Your interview technique is back. The guest had lots to say, and you let him say it without stepping on him and without letting the show bog down or get slow. Kudos!

I’m not big into sparklers. I can’t imagine laying down $170 for the Cristal, 100 points or no. But that was still fun, and I’m really looking forward to the encore.

Fascinating episode! Wonderful guest. Eager for part 2. 🙂

Wow! Down to earth, knowledgeable, and easy on the eyes as well – what’s not to love about Joshua as a guest?! Probably as an editor, too, for that matter. Hmmm, might just be worth subscribing to W&S…

    Looking forward to part 2!
