Excellent show. More than the usual geeked-up, I’ll take this science download any day. No QOTD?

Love this show, but I have to ask if you have ever had someone taste test with you, where you write down your thoughts before reading them out loud?

You describe all of the flavors, but simply SAYING that something is apple-y will make someone else taste it. I would love to know how different people taste without being told WHAT to taste.

    And Mrs. Spaghetti was AWESOME!

Also, I’d like to agree with the commentators who experienced the strong “Tina Fey” notes emmanating from Jen….. I think she stands as a nice polar opposite to Sarah palin in the potential Tina Fey repotoire… If only the rest of the world were able to aknkowledge Jennifer’s accomplishments for what they’re worth we might get to see an attempt…

Without question the best 2-episode sequence in the history of WLTV, and ending with an unforgettable explosion. Congrats on that, and congrats to Jennifer for her amazing achievement. Gary feel free to have her back on the show often, because she brings formal expertise that compliments your passion and experience, the fun loving spirit and palate-expanding mission of the show. Cheers, CK

Tremendous episode. The nerd factor was great, really interesting. Tell us more about the variation among bottles. I don’t recall it coming up before, but you guys made a bid deal about it.

  • Gary, if it’s not quite Marzipan, it might be the same basic thing, but hazelnut paste rather than almond. I got a lot of Hazelnut in the Blanc de Millesime.

    Santé!

Superbe épisode, une dégustation très intéressante et pertinente. Plus je vois vos vidéo, plus j'ai envie de découvrir ces bulles en particulier et le champagne en général. Bravo et à bientôt !

It's time to bring Jennifer and the sabre back! Maybe a 1000th show extravaganza?!

Great Show Gary! Jennifer is really a Master… I was looking for something like that for ages!! I was always wondering if decanting champagne is useful or not and if it's make a difference when tasting it. Personally I think old champagnes (+10 yrs) should be decanted for a while. The decanter used in the show is almost perfect, but how can you keep the champagne fresh with that after 1 hour decanting? I found a decanter designed by Paul Bocuse that goes into an ice bucket to keep the champagne (or wine) fresh!

    Very very good show indeed!

I sabred my first bottle open tonight and I’m NEVER EVER opening champagne, sparkling wine, prosecco , cava ANY other way from this day on (as long as it’s outdoors..) ever…She is uber cute for a wine jedi… Have Jennifer back pleeeeease.

  • Great show Gary! After seeing your Laura Catena episode, I searched “women” to see what kind of cool chicks you’d interviewed, and LOVED this episode! Sabre-ing! Fun! She was fantastic, I aspire to be a Master of Wine! And I will be decanting my next bottle of sparkling wine FOR SURE! 🙂 Sincerely, Kendall http://www.facebook.com/Wine2Three

Last time I had bubbly was prob 5 yrs. ago @my wedding. Expanding my palate just downed a bottle of Mumm Rose Napa with the wifey glad to report while it kept getting closer to room temp. lots of more flavor profile revealed itself. Wow how much can my brain hold. MUst WatCh Moore. Gary you’re slowly becoming _________ in my eyes. Whatever that means. Keep it up.
