Now we all love Gary and we love the show, but this guest was just too starstruck and psychophantic to do himself justice. I’m sure he’s a nice guy but he seemed a whisker away from wanking GV off…and that is an image I’m desperately trying to erase from my mind!

  • QOTD: I had my epiphany moment the day after I saw Gary interviewed by Eric Worre. Never heard of Gary before, never seen WLTV before. In the interview I was instructed to find my passion. Thought about it the entire next day… then it hit me and I cried. (yes it took me all day to figure it out) Now… I’m going to CRUSH IT! Brilliant show gentlemen 🙂 Thank you very much.

  • DUDE! This was epic! Steve’s energy is amazing and even though I don’t drink coffee I simply have to subscribe to his podcast.

Action of the day: I’m now kinda upset that I didn’t take a picture of GV and I hugging it out at the book signing in Tempe, AZ tonight. Everyone who has talked to me over the last 1.5 years knows how much I respect and admire the man.

QOTD: 2004 Pelton House with great friends in a restaurant was the moment that I figured out that wine + friends = win. Probably not the best wine in the world but it was at that point that I got it that each wine bottle had something awesome to teach me. Been a crazy couple of years but I’ve loved every step of it.

    Cheers,

  • Gary, I got your book today!!!!

Awesome. What an absurd tasting! This was pure fun! Great to see you are in England, my home land, though I now live in Germany. Steve you rocked for the UK.
What was so cool about this show was how different you guys were, but you were linked in sharing a massive passion. Long live the great divide! This gave the show from an actors point of view a real watchable tension, it made it absorbing, despite the absurdity.
My epiphany was a bottle of Yarra Yerring 1991 Underhill Shiraz back in 1997. (I had bought three bottles blind as a bin end for 10 pounds each.) It blew me away. It was a big wine but it had an amazing texture and sooooo many distinct levels of flavour. Equal to this was a Ridge Lytton Springs Zinfandel 1995, because it went so well with the Aubergine Parmigiana we were eating. This sent me off on my now great passion, matching wine and food. This to me is THE art, this is where Nirvana is. Wine is so brilliant, it can increase the pleasure of any meal ten-fold. The wrong wine can also ruin a meal and vice versa. Wine and food is about sharing, and a great wine and food experience, even for a non-nerd is a life changing moment.

Steve, I love coffee too. So, I am going to see what you are up to.

  • @nickeggleton

    Congrats.

    Great guest. Great show

I’ve been following Steve (@hasbean) on Twitter for as long as I’ve been following @garyvee.

The English / Coffee equivalent of the Vaynermeister.

Great show. Did I say that already? 🙂

  • That was a fun episode.

QOTD: I haven’t had my wine epiphany yet. Unless you count tuning into an episode of WLTV because since then I have been hooked.

  • Cool Dave

Gary V. *gives big hug* great show as always!
Checked out the coffee web site. Looks cool. I may have to order something.
QOTD – My wine epiphany was a St. Francis Chardonnay Behler Reserve Sonoma Valley 2002.
This wine, to me did not taste like any California Chard’ I
had ever had before nor had since. It was awesome! It had a caramel color instead of the golden color of other Chards and tasted like plums and baked apples. An amazing wine.
Because every wine I bought after that lucky pick was dissapointing I finally decided to learn about wine so I might be able to pick another good one without the help of a sommelier.

  • QOTD- OK, mine was just a few days ago when I watched an episode where Gary told us about the dormant stage that wine goes through and their different lifespans. The idea of getting a case of say 95 bordeaux and having a bottle every year to see it’s development opened a door of clarity and excitement for me; a whole different understanding. This, in combination with wine as an investment and collecting from excellent vineyards in their best years paints a perfect picture of how Mick and I envision our future. The energy that I feel when talking/learning wine, lets me know that this is something I am truly passionate about. Right now I only taste “red wine””white wine” but I am very excited about my pallet education! – Love to all- Tara Carbo

  • I loved this show. Ironic as I don’t drink either wine or coffee, but love watching the show for the knowledge.

Sweet episode and great interview. Big ups to the UK Vayniacs. Really enjoyed hearing Steve’s story.

QOTD: Recognizing that my palate has changed over time has been pretty cool. Understanding that tastes change makes wine interesting. Looking forward to exploring more regions like cental otago over the next year. Thanks for the heads up.

Possibly one of the greatest episodes all-time!!! Great energy, GV looked a bit tired but he went through it. I think the Brit is the English version of GV!

Wow what a cool guy. I think it’s important that there’s variety between the episodes and while very different this was one of the best episodes for a good while. I was also blown away about the fact how comfortable this guest for and really had a lof of things to say.

I don’t think I’m too wrong or prejudiced when I say once again that you truly can’t judge a book by its cover by the way that I was surprised how knowledgeable this guest was.

QOTD: Still getting those moments almost every week, so much more to discover about wines. If I had to choose one it would probably be the first time I tried goat cheese with Sancerre.

Great show. This fellow showed his heartfelt admiration and exuberance for what Gary:Gary is and does. My moment was finally opening a 1999 Philippe Vandelle Vin Jaune L’Etoile and detecting among others a curry aroma!

  • I love seeing the passionate fans doing their thing, too. Now I have source to get educated on coffee, too.
QOTD – When I studied abroad in France I went to Saint Emilion and tried a white wine that was just like honeysuckle nectar, probably a Sauterne. But even though it was sweet it was light and floral, and to make a 19 year old kid feel excited about wine for the smells and flavors rather than the buzz it brings, that was a special wine for me.

That was truly an awesome show! Steve was smart and fun! Off to his website next!

QOTD: A few years ago, after yet another Christmas/job-well-done (husband’s a contractor) gift of a bottle of wine, it finally dawned on me that we had no real clue on any level about what we were being given and drinking. That was the original epiphany. Then I found WLTV. Each epiphany after that has been increasingly informed and much more enjoyable!
