lines of the day (3 – first time ever!) – ‘The Abbott and Costello of wine bottles’, ‘I’m going for a big upset here. Mott, a little Buster Douglas action’, and ‘let’s stay out of Mott’s love life’

Stonking, all action episode with boxing references and demonstration. Loved it

  • GV,

I’m confused. Why not work hard to find good Pinot Grigio? Why diss the entire verietal? Kinda seems weak of you. You, more than most, *know* there are good bottles of pinot grigio lurking around, from Friuli, for example. Why be overly simple this way? That’s not the Gary we all love and know! You’re supposed to be expanding our palates (and minds with those palates), not limiting them.

  • Wowwwwwwwww, now if one of the Original Vayniacs did not get goosebumps watching this episode then there is something wrong with them. I cannot remember the last time you were this excited about ANY wine, let alone two from one of my favorite white regions in the world. I have actually visited this region and was blown away by the quality and i.e. QPR.

Great, no, better than that, epic show. This is up there in my Top 10 and I’ve seen them all!

QOTD: My pasttime? Besides playing tennis which one could call a “hobby” or “sport” it would be an online strategy game called Travian. I have met many wonderful people and have had get-togethers etc. etc.

    Cheers!

    P.S. Great show G-Man.

    GV–

I love it when you shoot 2 or 3 episodes of WLTV on the same day and make all the little references to “yesterday” (nod at the camera). It’s quite entertaining.

You might wanna try changing your shirt for each episode to make it look more real. And change the chalk board too.

    Love the show…

Very nice show. Gotta try me an Alto Adige sometime. Never been there before. Sounds very nice. Not sure my wife would like it so much. Her palate is a little more conservative than mine. Spiciness might not work as well for her. But, maybe I’ll convince her to give it a whirl.

QOTD: Is a pastime different from a hobby? I’ll say yes, and go with playing boardgames. I love being old school and pushing around cardboard, instead of killing pixels.

  • Thats why its called the thundershow. Good stuff, nerdy, informative, clean – straight OG, GV. Abbot and Costello, can we get a little Bert and Ernie analogy “up in this piece.” Always love when you put the pressure on Cali Chardonnay and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

QOTD: My regular Sunday fried chicken run. Vietnamese family knows whats up with the panko bread crumbs… mmmmmm.

Great show, sorry I haven’t left a comment for about 1 year. My favorite pastime is skiing with my 10 year old son…. heading to Mt. Hood for the weekend for some quality father son time.

The Tramin Pinto Bianco is 14.99 in PA but you have to place a special order, minimum of 12 bottles. You have to pay S&H but then you have to pick it up at the wine and spirits shop. You pay the shipping but you pick it up. Makes no sense. The 2007 Terlano not the 2008 is 17.69 and is also available by special liquor order with a 6 bottle minimum order. I guess it’s off to Delaware or New Jersey if I want to try it.

  • I like these short dedicated episodes, GaryVee is on his game…

Thirteen years ago when I first started designing for the Italians, one of them brought a bunch of pinot biancos and other wines from the Adige because he wanted to serve them in his restaurant, and I remember not liking them so much because they tasted a bit raw, I don’t know how to say it, it’s like they were too grassy and in those days I was getting to know wines from South Africa and Chile and thought that German whites were better. I haven’t had any since and the one thing I remember is that they were amazed at the price of the wines, being restaurateurs and all…

QOTD: a thing I like to do is architectural research, in my spare time I like imagining what we could do to make affordable housing and living quarters, I take to my sketchbook and draw and plan and dream… and when I don’t do that I like to fly airplanes… and when I can’t fly I take to photography… there is just so much to learn and do.
