Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Drinking the White Bordeaux now. We’re both really red wine drinkers and I especially dislike Savignon Blanc because I hate that grassy-ness. My gf really likes it…I slightly dislike it. It’s not as grassy as most I have had. We’ve had a couple glasses each and the rest we’ll use to make the turkey gravy. On your recommendation, we’re having the Primitivo with dinner and I will post my comments on that later.

QOTD: I’m thankful for just about everything and everyone in my life, but in all honesty, we’re both very thankful that we discovered you and WLTV on TiVo. We’ve enjoyed more fabulous wine this year than any other in recent past, and that’s in large part due to you, your recommendations, WLTV, and your wine club.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Did not buy the secret pack but had 1 of the wines, the Primitivo and have the 04 and 05 Sansonnet and have tasted both and enjoy both. We are having Prosecco, Cava, and Syrah for Thanksgiving.

Thankfullness: roasted sweet potatoes wrapped in sage leaves and prosciutto paired with Molly Dooker ’07 Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz (discovering this is THE perfect pairing). Bosc pears with goat cheese, grapes, oranges, and crackers. This was our Thanksgiving meal – and to pair it with something so perfect was something to be duly thankful for. ALSO, discovering Jerez – Sherry – after a 30 mile bike ride at a teensie liquor store in Stockton NJ- Alvear’s Cream – and how it perfectly pairs with dark chocolate (well, maybe not perfect – the black walnut taste turned into real, live earth) – will be trying it later with lemon pound cake with cranberry/rasp. compote (we’re creative types – not pretentious), so a later post will unveil this mystery. Most of all – thankful to be sharing all this stuff with your one true love is the most fully thankness one can feel. Prost meine freunde!

Happy Thanksgiving, Gary and family! and Chis Mott!! This is a very nice secret pack!! Every wine in it is very good. I had the Botromagno Primitivo back in August, and these are my notes on it: Deep, dark and dense plum color with very slight “fig” color rim. The nose is fabulous yet refined and discreet, offering aromas of plums and leather. Dark fruit flavors showing complexity with smoke and bacon fat flavors towards the end. Black berries and black currant are obvious in this wine. It is a medium bodied wine, unlike its fuller body California Zinfandel counterparts. Very pleasant wine with sensational nuances and complexity, and acceptable finish and acidity. 88 pts.
