QOTD: They have this Mexicano spicy cheese in English supermarkets like Tesco and Morrisons that I just live to bits, def my favourite ever cheese; but goats cheese and the one that my mum brought home for Christmas rock as well.

Alain Graillot makes the best Croze-Hermitage I have ever had. At the local French Bistro here in Olmsted Falls, OH, we had a 2005 E. Guigal Croze-Hermitage the other night that was very nice as well.

QOTD: My favorite cheeses are 1) Morbiere 2) Manchego and 3) Asiago.

I’ve never been blown away by a Crozes but I haven’t tried Graillot. I’ve been impressed with the ’03 vintage however in this region. I might try the peppery one you like in this episode if I see it. I’ve had a Hermitage Sizeranne by Chapoutier ’98 (I think) that rocked but was disappointed with Jaboulet’s Cote Rotie ’98.

QOTD: Feta and Mozzarella. I can’t handle the stinky cheese so maybe in my next lifetime I’ll be a cheese taster.

semi random opinion: I had a cotes du rhone that is worth mentioning: The Kermit Lynch 07 CdR is very serious and truthful. I tried the 07 Clos St. Jean Chateauneuf (94pts Parker) and prefer the $12.95 Kermit CdR. In general for me, the 07 S. Rhone’s so far haven’t lived up to the Parker hype but I’ll keep an open mind going forward.

Love your shows, still think you need a coach for pronunciation.

  • QOTD: I think my favorite cheese is Petit Billy http://gourmetlibrary.com/products/31217-Petit-Billy
love the tangyness and freshness of it. It’s from Loire and not surprisingly goes well with Vouvray and other chenin blancs.
