line of the day – ‘ladies, you know what I’m talking about if a guy is nice……no edge’

First time ever I think, where Mott is asked to link up something….and doesn’t bother! 30 seconds from the end

  • QOTD: Kerrygold Reserve Two Year Aged Cheddar…nom..nom

This show was pretty ironic. After telling us how value driven these wines are, we have a 20 dollar that hits 89 points – somewhat of a value, barely – and a 30 dollar 85 point wine…FAIL! (Referring to the wines failing, not Gary or Mott)

  • Gary,If I order cheese from Gourmet Library with my free shipping code, will get to California in time without spoiling?

I need to get one or two Croze because it has been too long since I have had one. My knowledge is more about the southern Rhone so I enjoyed hearing about the northern Rhone today. I like most cheese and can’t pick just one as a favorite. I am heading to a wine and cheese tasting this evening so maybe I will find a favorite there. Thanks.

  • @Brently SUCKS RIGHT! I hate when that happens with wines…

  • Great episode. You smelling black pepper and Mott not picking that up shows the new wine drinker that just b/c your palate doesnt agree with whats written on the bottle doesnt mean you cant still enjoy the wine. Great idea to incorporate cheese/food/etc this year…they go hand in hand.

  • 89, my favorite score. Not too pointy.

Q: serious blue cheese. Like, say, Cabrales!

Hi Gary, Comte is a good cheese for Rhone style wines. It has a earthy, mushroomy flavor profile but is not so sharp that it overwhelms.

    Where is Sniffy Sniff McGee?

  • Love the food paring. Great idea. Please make recommendations for those of us (read: ME) who are food/wine challenged. I don’t do dairy anymore (damn age and genetics), but if I did, I’d like this cheese:

    http://gourmetlibrary.com/products/31907-Montgomery-s-Cheddar-Neal-s-Yard-Dairy

    Also any smoked gouda, too.
