We are starting off the evening with a Schramsberg 2006 Blanc de Blancs, followed by Schramsberg 2005 Cremant and topping off the New Year with a 2002 J Schram. I bet you can guess we are club members of Schramsberg! Either way, these tend to be modestly priced compared to French Champagnes in the neighborhood with better flavors. Our palettes lean towards the California wines, but we hope to broaden all that in 2010.

Tonight we are going with 2 bottles of Schramsberg Vineyards Mirabelle Brut Rose. Love the pink bubbles and can’t beat the price.

nice. I love Champagne! I won’t be popping any tonight because I’ll be at a party where not many people are into wine. I will open a Gruet Blanc de Noirs, a cheap Pinot Noir rose Cava, and a 1.5 of Freixenet Cava. I hope you all have a fun, safe New Year’s celebration!

Thanks for a fun year of shows. I hope there are many more. I had a bubbles tasting on Tuesday that showed they can be very different tasting and from all over the world. I am not sure what bubbles I am having tonight, but I am definitely ordering wine of some sort. Have a safe and healthy new year.
