  • Hey Gary,

I was watching 794 and wondering why you didn’t do a champagne show and well here it is.

QOTD: I don’t know, going out to get a bottle after work.

  • Umm, can’t you drink down the bubbles one night of the year? Must you gargle it and spit it out? Where’s the fun and festivity in that?

Cuvee St-Vincent from Legras. You highly recomended it a couple weeks ago. My hopes are high. Then for a backup I’ve got a couple bottles of Piper H. Rose Sauvage. Tried it yesterday while playing some tennis and it killed! My tennis game that is.
    Great Show!

Great to end the year with bubbles…I do have a question though. I always thought that when tasting wines it might be best to taste the older (more delicate, subtle) wines first as young wines can often overpower them with their youth, vibrance, ect. So I was surprised to see you taste these in the reverse order that I would have expected…

QOTD: 2005 Roger Goulart Cava Reserva Semi Seco

    Happy New Year!
Nice show to the the year with, I like these shorter shows – less than 10 minutes.
QOTD: Argyle 1999 Extended Tirage, I have not had this vintage yet but it
got 95 points in the wine spectator and it was #18 in the top 100 wines.

QOTD: Popping some homebrew to bring in the new year. Couple of pale ales, a brown ale, an oatmeal stout, and an IPA. Not exactly luxury cuvees, but they’ll get the job done.

Great to end the year with some bubbles. This year I have really embraced the bubbles whenever possbile. We will pop 2 Schramsbergs tonight; 06 Blanc de Nior and 05 Blanc de Blancs. I love Blanc de Niors and Rose so i was bummed that the Clicquot was a clunker. Happy New Years to all at WLTV.

QOTD: We’ll see- I’m in New Orleans, which is much more of a hard liquor town than wine. We’ll see!

    Happy New Year, Gary!
Everyone got some form of wine this year as gifts and I am reading Alice Feiring’s, “The Battle for Wine and Love”. Our wine world is evolving and Bill is working in New Jersey next week so maybe we can enjoy something from Winelibrary if security issues allow. Right now we are heading to friends to pop a cork or two.
    Cheers!

Love the show, I laughed out loud when you said “nuts in your mouth” and the show is totally my cup of tea. Or wine. For New Years, we’re going with Tattinger.

Happy new year every one. Enjoyed reading all the comments. Loved the pictures of the ball from winepupil.
I will pop a Waterbrook Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve just to be contrary. I have to finish my Lucien Crochet Sancerre first.
I saw someone is having Gaston Chiquet. I had that for Christmas and it was awesome.
    See Ya
    Dave in Alabama.
